How does Alan Moore not understand the appeal Rorschach has?
He says identifying with him is horrible. But why wouldn’t a lot of people identify with the protagonist who stands alone against genocide and for truth?

>stands alone against genocide
What genocide. Go ahead, explain your shitposting. I'll wait.
New Yorker genocide
Because he identifies as Ozymandias.
that is probably not what he said
Moore is simultaneously smarter and dumber than what we give him credit for.
"Genocide" has a meaning and it's not what you think it is.
the truth is problematic
Because the capes aren't the heroes of Watchmen.
Ordinary people are.
When Moore created Rorschach he was trolling himself.
because he's a filthy hypocrite mostly
>how is an "an"com retarded?
Like Nixon.
Moore Swamp Thing > Watchmen
he doesn't stand alone agaist truth, let alone genocide. dumb ass people who only saw the movie think they understand rorschach better than the man who wrote him
>Politicians
>ordinary people
Basically this. His views on ideology are insanely childish compared to everything else.
Commie fags think pedo is an orientation.
Rorschach executes pedos.
Of course I identify with Rorschach.
Fucking commie pedo faggots.
why, oh why, do all these high minded intellectuals who think they are smarter then the entire south of america, always have the most simplistic and childlike view on politics and religion?
this is a man who found a near forgotten snake puppet god and decided to create an entire religion based around babylonian magic tricks yet he still think "christian bad, republicans bad, torries bad, thatcher bad, reagan bad". ya figured he'd realize that that shits fucking retarded right? he's nearly in his 70s and he still hasn't realized a baptist from alabama or a catholic from belfast arent evil snake monsters going out and beating everyone darker then white bread right?
right?
Because Rorschac himself is a deulded, racist fool. Not unlike conspiracy theorists and Trumptards. The only difference is that he actually did stumble onto a conspiracy.
These are definitely words.
He's an idiot, like unironically though. He's that old man how got screwed over once and hates everything now. Don't pay him mind, he's just that way now.
>racist
How?
If he says that identifying with Rorschach is horrible, he obviously understands who Rorschach appeals to: horrible people.
The idea that "intellectualism = freedom of thought" is downright false. Time and time again, it's often the local intellectuals who are the first to pave the way to authoritarianism, at least so long as it comes from their side of the aisle and especially if it's a brand that comes from abroad.
It's why many terrorists are college-educated engineers or even have PhDs. It's why many communist warlords in the past century belonged to their local elites and studied in Europe or the US.
Semantics does not do your argument favors. Had he said what you understood he meant in the first place, I think you would have argued the point he made, not how he made it. Pretend for a moment he said, "Mass homicide" instead; which is what you already knew he meant.
If you disagree with that, please say so instead of leading everyone so far down this segue that the topic gets derailed to something off-topic.
He's also genuinely fucked in the head and lives a shitty life. Rorschach, I mean.
Nope.
>He's also genuinely fucked in the head and lives a shitty life. Rorschach, I mean
So does batman
How many tens of ppl on Zig Forums still think Moore actually has this view? Obviously he gets the appeal, but also obviously he wouldn't think people should idolize him because of how unhealthy Moore wrote him as.
In short, he seems to regret the fact that he made Rorschach arguably the coolest character from Watchmen because he doesn't want to people to try and actually emulate him--Rorschach, like all the other Watchmen, is a cautionary tale. That's why he got butthurt about it.
>So does batman
Depends on who's writing him.
Moore unironically agrees with Ozymandias though
I sincerely doubt that given a whole theme of the books is that Veidt is misguided in his attempt to "save the world"--give proof to chew on.
I know, Ive read up on the french republic.
whats weird is, Intellect is now branded the same way things that are "cool" is branded. get a Che Guerrera or sickle and hammer shirt, wear a fedora, drink starbucks and agree with nonbinary genders and you are smarter then 90% of the country. they destroyed wisdom and nuance with branding and tribal mentality. they monetised and corporatized the abilith to think and understand the world into a business model.
and I just felt shivers go down my spine.
>Racist
Where? One of the few characters he spoke truly and even showed sign of vulnerability was a black character.
Also, Rorschach is portrayed as someone who has had a rough life all the way through. And yes, he is deluded and a bit crazy, but the book goes out of it's way to make you feel sympathy for the character.
Citation needed.
Moore's Watchmen intelligence ratings:
Plebs
Again, your source is still your ass.
Try something concrete.
Rorscach was the only character to not doubt himself. he was a rock in cast of consisting of Jello.
