Xerography looks so fucking cheap to the point of making movies unenjoyable.
Xerography looks so fucking cheap to the point of making movies unenjoyable
What level of zoombrain is this?
what?
>zoombrain
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Xerography was a method of modernization and cutting corners. Inking by hand always looks better.
Scratch era is my favorite aesthetic.
I always thought it was something to do with photocopying.
I'm cool with it depending on the movie. Xerox does wonders for films like 101 Dalmations that have moody color palettes and stylized backdrops.
aww how adorable
disagree. I think being able to see the texture of the lines gives the animations a lot of visual interest. It really accentuates the handmade quality. I don't understand why people hate on it so much.
I love it too. Never understood the hate for the Xerox era.
oh the xerox era, when Disney actually made decent art.
Eyvind Earle would like to have a word with you.
eh, his stuff is passable at best.
That's interesting to hear- who are your favorite BG artists then?
I like both the clean lines and the xerox lines so I don't really have a dog in this fight.
Don't take easy bait.
Its better than the vasoline blur smear transfer like the blu ray
zoomer or boomer, your still a fucking retard
It is.
You're probably thinking of Xerox, which was the first automated photocopier. It used Xerography.
>your still a fucking retard
Irony.
>vasoline
Like the Stone Temple Pilots song?
I like the scratchy look. Especially when they haven't removed the anatomy guide lines in some frames, see the sleeping puppy in the bottom left. Gives it more character and I hope we see it again at some point.
reminds of the universally shat upon emulator filters for old video games.
I don't think they actually sell "remastered" versions of games that look like this though.
Bullshit OP. Such a bad taste is terminal
>Baiting people over famous Disney BG artists from the 1950s
Zig Forums has become so awful
Cope, it's objectively uglier than hand inked lines. It looks unfinished.
Fair enough. Are you also a fan of UPA-style thick lines or just the thinner Lady and the Tramp-style colored lines?
I actually dislike UPA more than xerox. I'm a huge fan of pre-xerox Disney and Don Bluth.
Ah yes, my first wide eyes moment. No wonder i like tall girls
What do you like the most art-wise out of those films? For me it's a lot of the technical skill in a lot of Disney's early stuff like The Old Mill.
What is xerography anyway? Why do movies like 101 Dalmatians and OP’s pic look different from Snow White and Pinocchio?
The mobile versions of a lot of the Final Fantasies are dogshit, with intentionally poorly made sprites instead of crappy filters.
