What made him the best character of the whole MCU and why?

He wasn't an immature joke machine

interesting shield-fu choreography
boyscout out of time without being forcefully quirky
cute boyfriend
and he had the best costumes

He stayed obsessed with the past and never moving on the whole time to the point where he just dropped Bucky as soon as he got the chance to go back in time, so I guess he stayed consistent.

Had the only movie of the bunch that actually had an interesting take (WIinter Soldier).
Had a incredible half-movie (First 2/3rds of the First Avenger were actually pretty great).
Looks the part, had the best costumes (I don't even think his costumes were that good, I just greatly dislike MCU take on costumes in general).

>I understood that reference
>Language
Why did Whedon thought that was a good idea

He was always honest to himself.

Jeez, don't remind me

The First Avenger was genuinely 7/10, I never understood why Zig Forums never liked it. the only flaws it had was that both Red Skull and the Howling Commandos didn't had enough screentime

>Don't bullshit me Rogers, did you know?
lol, no

>Cap had to be drastically changed into a big fat liar so he and Tony would have something to argue about, as the latter was willing to go back him up even when they were fighting over the Accords
>right after he admonished Tony for not bringing up that he was starting work on Ultron
CACW had fun fights but it was absolute garbage as far as Cap’s character mattered.

I liked the movie right before it became everything about Tony

>how dare Cap ever have anything negative about him ever no matter the circumstance he must always be this shining example of perfection!
what the fuck
it made sense Cap withheld that information considering Cap's priority was to save Bucky who was still out there and that's way more important, he absolutely would forfeit his morals if it means keeping someone safe. Cap calling Tony out for being a liar at the same time as holding back this information was an interesting (if unintentional) moment but you shouldn't really conflate these situations considering Ultron was out there killing people and threatening to nuke the planet so Tony's fuck up was a bit more substantial.

>he must always be this shining example of perfection
He never was, he frozen himself in the Artic for no reason. Didn't even wanted to give coordinates.

The sincerity and genuine good guy portrayal with his behavior. The Russos and Winter Soldier movie were huge for him.

He's still number 2 behind Stark for me.

Hard agree.

I found the movies/parts where he was more earnest/good natured better. First Avengers, AoU, His first Solo movie. WS never meant much to me and he's jaded growth from that on never impressed me.

He's pretty good natured in TWS, though. He was just going through a hard week

I loathe Barnes with a passion as a concept, so much that my rant about him is apparently a recognizable pasta on Zig Forums. Sorry. I'm not objective enough on that movie. You could be right or wrong, I don't care to rewatch it.

Cap is the boy scout who speaks reason into others but at the same time he's a conflicted individual, that last one is what keeps him from being a one-dimensional like Superman is usually depicted.

Cap stays earnest in TWS. He just learns the hard way that you can't just SAY you are the good guys. You have to act like it too. If Good and Evil are both doing the exact same thing to the point that swapping uniforms lets you blend in perfectly for years, that means neither of them was ever really good. It was just evils done in the name of ideals you were not actually practicing.

The First Avenger is literally the only real movie in the franchise.

>that last one is what keeps him from being a one-dimensional like Superman is usually depicted.

Kind of like why people who dislike Superman still like Allmight: Allmight isn't perfect, but he tries to fill the role of someone who is even when its fucking killing him. Faced with his own impending mortality, his goal becomes making sure that there is another Symbol of Peace to follow him to keep everything from falling apart.
Superman is strong enough to handle any problem and we know it, which saps tension from any conflict he is involved in. Allmight ISN'T strong enough for every problem, but tries anyway and we want him to succeed even though we know that just fighting at all is only going to cut what time he has left even shorter.

Pretty much yeah.
Also, he told Nick Fury to suck his dick twice in the same movie and for a good reason. He's been the best in my eyes ever since

Show your work.

Almight isn't enough physically, but he is mentally/emotionally. Cap is enough physically, but he isn't mentally/emotionally. That's why I like Allmight and not cap. Almight doesn't have to grow into being more cynical, like cap. Allmight might be done as a hero because he's wounded, but his world is still one where an earnest, good, hopeful and optimistic person who believes in the goodness of the average man will triumph, if they're powerful enough.
Cap's world isn't that.

>Cap's world isn't that.
It's actually the bane of the problem. DC's civilians are actually grateful and willing to reason sometimes, unlike most of Marvel citizens that are almost as retarded as the twitter woke crowd. Cap keeps saving the world everyday and everyone still wants his head on a stick by Monday

>all might
ew a weeb

it's not about Superman elimination the stakes in a fight or what he sacrifices but about him being likeable, the batman-brooding coat of paint they gave Clark in the snyder movies isn't meant for him. it's very telling how DCEU Superman's most likeable scenes are the ones where he acts cocky with a supervillain and has a race with Flash.

>that scene where Natasha is lowkey offering a hook up in the car
>tells her to be a friend
Unexpectedly sweet

I understand you at some level, user. But still

Believe me, user. Two things are true, and I promise you. 1) I am aware of how unhealthy my obsession is. I am. Really. And 2) I legit haven't communicated even 1/1000th of my distaste. You've no idea. Like. Legit. No. Idea.
