Asian animation is pigeonholed into appealing to a small demographic of sexually frustrated shut-in NEETs who blow all their cash on media, so their character designs tend to be sexually charged. Western animation is pigeonholed into appealing to children which means being especially vulnerable to moral watchdogs and outrage culture who shit a brick when they see titties.

Japan will also release heavily censored versions of anime for broadcast then offer the uncensored versions as an incentive to buy the dvds. Sometimes they won't even fully uncensor the episodes so they can sell you a later set of dvds.
