"I could put you through college."

>"I could put you through college."
>"But I'm with the Gems all the time?"
Reminder that Greg offered to give Steven a real education in season 3 when he got rich but Steven turned it down and wanted to go blow it in the big city instead.

Smart kid.

Greg became a millionaire, Steven would face literally zero debt if he went.

According to the semi-canon comics, Pearl does homeschool him so he has at least a grade school level education. Although when the fuck Pearl learned about human history isn't explained.

> when the fuck Pearl learned about human history isn't explained.
She was around when it happen

Didn't she reference early man's ability to function without electricity as a way to handwave the fact they knocked out all power in beach city that one episode?

Any kid would turn it down, getting an education isn't about what the kid wants, it's about the parent doing what's right. Even Steven noticed it in Future.

This. Parents are supposed to say a kid can’t do whatever they want.

Kids shouldn't go to school, they can get hurted in many ways.

>Parents are supposed to say a kid can’t do whatever they want.
Only the parent can, not the school or teachers.

>"they can get hurted in many ways"
t. didn't go to school

Why the hell would Steven, a 12 year old, care about going to college when he’s never been given a substantial education? What’s he gonna do, roll in with a 1st grader’s understanding of math?

He'd probably study liberal arts or something anyway

Steven needs an apprenticeship, not college.

>go blow it in the big city instead.
I mean Greg was still rich at the end of the series, he didn't do the thing of spending all his millions in a single night

>Pearl is Hitler’s muse in Vienna during one of her walkabouts
>keeps him safe in WW1 before he’s gassed
>gas reminds her of the Corruption Wave in how it decimates people
>assists Hitler in his fight for power, in exchange for swearing never to use chemical weapons
>rise to power, marries her after winning
>the gem weapons she provides him helps him win WW2 handily
>Reich’s going fine until Pearl learns about the Zyklon B god even pretending that was real for a greentext is painful
>enraged, challenges Hitler in combat, but she’s trained him well and he wins
>in turn, Pearl leaves the Reich and Hitler alone, who without his muse spends his twilight years depressed despite winning everything
>the Reich putters out after Hitler passes away in the early 60s, a few Fuhrers but nothing revolutionary, the economy slows and fractures the Reich in the 1990s
>Hitler’s body rests in the Volkshalle, still standing in Germania, and once in a while when no one’s around, it’s said a woman in white appears beside him from time to time

Guess what?
If they got hurt they can heal, I did it, my friends did it, my parents and their parents as well. Try getting money without being a hot woman or never finishing school.
It's not the parent's job to take care of a Chinese porcelain from 320BC, everyone needs to go through this sometime in life. Your job will also hurt you, your relationships will also hurt you, even staying all day locked in your room will hurt you.

Nice, now try explaining to your kid's teachers that they're wrong.

What’s that?

seems legit

That would contradict Pearl not knowing what school was until Steven mentioned in season 1.

That’s why it’s semi

>Reminder that Greg offered to give Steven a real education in season 3 when he got rich but Steven turned it down and wanted to go blow it in the big city instead.
Yep, adolescents shouldn't make life-altering decisions. They're retarded.

Pearl knew education. Not what a modern human school looks and feels like. She tried to replicate it to make Steven happy and make teaching easier.
Fully canon.
Ian wrote that issue. Its the only actual outright canon comic.

Imagine letting a child make important decisions for themselves

He’s a royal bastard. He just needs a stipend and someone keeping his scandals under wraps. At least turning into a kaiju and temporarily killing a combat instructor is less of a scandal than some royals have.

She’d be too busy protecting the legacy of Oliver Cromwell to care about Germany.

Greg kneejerked too hard in the opposite direction after his parents micromanaged his hobbies and relationships.

Meh, vocational degrees like nursing and engineering are pretty worthwhile when you put the effort in. Professional degrees in law school and medical school are profitable too though it's definitely not for everyone. Hell, econ, statistics and business are other goods ones if they're mixed with a decent network. Greg was rich so debt wouldn't be an issue either.

Why bother? What would he really learn there aside from how to interact with people his own age? His bird mom can build a functioning space craft and mech suit out of garage scrap.

Yeah, Steven would probably be better off with an apprenticeship, and if he did go to college it's probably gonna be in the arts and humanities since that's where his interests and intellectual strengths are.
