ITT: Ideas for characters that haven't been done before

We all know that Mr. Freeze's biggest problem at a writing level is that he only works in the context of a one-off villain and should never really be a recurring foe for Batman to fight against. You have so many hurdles you need to jump through most of the time, and in the end he becomes another generic ice villain.

So why hasn't anyone done a complete 180 for his character and turn him into a hero? Or at the very least, someone who the rest of the Bat-Family can rely on for help if they need information on someone in Arkham? The only other really compelling/memorable story involving Freeze is his Batman Beyond episode where society pressures him to becoming a villain again, so why not hone in on that? He has the perfect internal conflict of wanting to honor the memory of Nora by becoming a better person despite the general public's hate/fear of him

DC needs to give Mr. Freeze back his wife(with no strings attached like what happened in Year of the Villain) and reform him into a hero or antihero.

There is a lack of ice themed male heroes in DC and the female ice heroes(Ice and Killer Frost, who reformed the last time she showed up) aren't getting a push anytime soon.

Why don't they just kill the wife? Eternal torment and eternal, cold rage for the mankind that killed his wife.

I don't know user, sounds like a risk that can work really well or really bad. My guess is that he's a better morally neutral character with little care for life than anything else.

I feel that he works better as a reactive character than an active one, so you would have to plan and execute everything really well to make it work.

Mr. Freeze has cured his wife already.
She killed him.

This has been brought up in past threads. The complete character arc for Victor should be
>Nora is cured
>They're happy
>Victor is now the "lab guy" like how Oracle is the communications/information "gal in the chair".

Cmon, you can't deny "Uncle Fries" would be a fun arc.
No Victor "cured her" thanks to a monkey paw serum from Apex Lex, she's now Ms Freeze, she's gone nuts, and now Victor has been put on ice until Batman can save his life

He's generally more reactive than active so my guess is that you would need someone to trigger him in some way or another. I think the best way is for him to let his wife go and start to construct himself as a person from there. That could be the hero/anti-hero way.

Hence why I say have him be an asset to the Bat-Senpai. Have Victor staying inside Arkham because he doesn't want to cause any more harm. He could pop up as a background character in the extended family's books whenever Robin or Batgirl needs his help

He should get his wife back (and doesn't become insane/evil), she gets powers (ice related or not) and they should become a superhero couple.

I think he should be a Suicide Squad member

New Series: Mr. Freeze - Firefly Power Hour.

I think Freeze is best as a mostly neutral character. I don't really see him doing heroics, but I can see him being a legit business man using his cyro technology and helping Batman every once in a while.

I wouldn't say that Freezes only character trait is him wanting to safe his wife. In "Heart of Ice" Freeze still thought Nora was dead. Even if Nora was cured he is still left detached from humanity because he is basically locked into a wearable refrigerator. Freeze is an extremely COLD and bitter person who could only see his loved one through two layers of glass for years.
I would honestly want more stories about his detachment from humanity rather then seeing all his problems get resolved as soon as Nora gets healed.
Idk why so many people think turning batman villains into heroes is such an interesting take. And doesn't Batman already have enough allies?

It's not a bad idea, but I don't see Vic as the kind of guy who would want to stay in the fucked up retarded world of superheroes after completing his goal of getting his wife back. I'd think he'd fuck right out of Gotham to go live in peace and quiet while busting frosty nuts in his alive wife.

Writers need a long-term milkable premise, and one is pitting Freeze's cold pragmatism against his searing hot passion for Nora. Reason would lead him to take the path of least resistance; that is, teaming up with Batman in return for WayneTech's support. But Freeze is an unstable element. All it takes is some dipshit dumb enough to fuck with Victor or ambitious enough to use his wife as a leash. Both will send him flying off the rails into villain mode again, at least for a time.

All writers need to do is remember that trying to help your wife doesn't absolve you of the numerous and often violent crimes you committed while doing so. Why would Freeze continuing being a villain when his wife is cured? Because there is no way he's going to spend decades in prison separated from his wife after spending years trying to cure her and he'll do anything to keep them together.

Freeze was based before Paul Dini introduced muh Nora (and also, he ripped off a Len Wein story lol).

I want Mr. Freeze to be a calculating, cold-blooded motherfucker with a harem of sluts he doesn't give a fuck about. Luckily in the comics right now he has the perfect excuse to get over Nora and do just that.

You basically just described the Penguin you fuckass

Honestly not a bad idea.

Why is there always some fag that pretends characters were better at their most generic and unmemorable phases?
Like in the Teen Titans threads where one fag always tries to pretend people cared about Jinx before the cartoon

He'd stick around because its sort of a debt he owes Batman, and a way to atone for his past sins.

Cartoon Jinx is just waifubait.

The ice puns need to comeback

not him but get over yourself, pre-btas freeze was cool as, even if the toon gave him a good story or two, he had 'em prior too

Snowball's chance in hell of that happening.

Wow let's turn a character 180 that's really original, you are an absolute retard, turning black to white is not original, and has been done thousands of times, everybody has thought of it, it's interesting, oh wow, what if THE BATMAN was EVIL, and the Joker was GOOD GOY, yeah it's not interesting.
But the batmen villain are not evil, their just bad people, they do good things, and help batman constantly, have you read one of the comics before, I can recall, but I can insure you that Mr Freeze has probably help batman before, seem how every other villain has.
The riddler teamed up with Batman in the 80s, and saves his life.
Ivy helps batman in Arham Knight.
Catwoman constantly saves batman.
They help batman all the time, their not evil, just bad people.
Making them heroes is not interesting.
You retard.

Which is more than you can say for the comic version.

No he didn't.
Freeze before was a generic ice villain

They did. It happened in Pre-Flashpoint. Freeze killed her by accident in his origin story when trying to kill Batman and Robin. From there on, he blamed Batman and used his fuck-up as an excuse to be bad.

Writer here. Mr. Freeze doesn't work as a Supervillain because Batman comes off as an antagonist or he gets kicked around by society like the Penguin. Mr. Freeze will go on a rampage. The thing only person he respects is Terry because they got kicked around by society.

Comic version is bald, dark-skinned, wears skimpy clothing, and is constantly barefoot. She's waifubait too, the only difference is that she's competing against more than 3 other characters for waifu.

>Good Freeze Arc
>Freeze becomes the New Arnold of the Bat-Family, living inside the Batcave after curing Nora. He can't be with Nora since he has to fullfill his crimes, but Batman doesn't want to send him to Arkham since they both think he's more useful as an ally.
>Freeze fullfills his "punishment" working for Batman while Nora is far away from Gotham, safe from everyone. Freeze keeps talking to her but they still feel miserable because they can't be together for everything he done.
>Freeze and Alfred develop a mutual respect relationship, they become the dynamic duo of sarcasm and compliment each other (Freeze treats Alfred with respect since his uncle was a butler too, and he loved him so much until he died when he was just a kid).
>Freeze and Damin don't trust each other, but Freeze ends up getting the "I want to be a father" feeling after spending sometime with him and getting used to his shenanigans.
>Freeze develops tons of new gadgets to Batman, while Batman uses his resources trying to cure him, developing new suits and stuff to him (or experimental serums that can allow him to live outside the cold for a while).
>Nightwing and Co. train with Freeze in Battle Mode.
>Freeze becomes a teacher to Barbara and the others.
>Grayson teaches Freeze new ice puns.

Comics Jinx design is so generic, she looks like a background harem/slave girl

He's based in arkham city
I really doubt he will be in Gotham knights tho

Wasn't him in limbo during animal man ?
