Maybe i'm just dumb and didn't pick up on what the movie was trying to say, but why didn't he just build a Soviet Union that just didn't force brainwashing on people after defeating Brainiac? instead of just giving up and living a normal life.

Because the Soviet Union can't survive without brainwashing or repression.

You have to be heavily indoctrinated in order to support communism

I didn't see the movie. Is it a straight adaptation of the comic, or did it have weird shenanigans like ASS and Killing Joke?

Because the comic was written by burger liberals with no grasp of Marxist theory. Americans are so floored that a country can have a government that's popular that they cope with ghost stories of brain washing.

Woke shenanigans.

Before that one really whiny asshole screeches because someone pointed it out, to clarify why this effected the story-
>Wonder Woman is now a lesbian who has no attraction to Clark. Despite this, they kept in the scenes of her justifying Superman's questionable actions and still kept in her breaking the Lasso of Truth to save him, only they removed the in universe justification that she was attracted to him and admired him and it made her blind to a lot of his actions, culminating when she sees what he does after she breaks the lasso and sees the "Truth".
>They completely changed Lex Luthor's Luthorism to prevent a white guy leading the world to a new age, instead he hands the presidency over to a now Black Jimmy Olsen, completely deleting the entire unbreakable ambition that allowed him to challenge Superman when everyone else gave up.
>Bizarro is no longer the broken individual who has a good heart deep down and is smarter than he lets on and culimnates with a powerful sacrifice, he now screams "AMERICA FIRST!" and other slogans before dying to show the evils of capatlism.
>Hal now has a scene where, when fighting Superman, after Wonder Woman(Who's fixed to not be old anymore of course, completely destroying her powerful act of breaking her lasso and the permanent scarring it had on her in the original) leaves, he makes a comment to Superman about "Women, right?" just so Superman can punch him. Immediately before this, Hal and the GLs were trying to kill him, and Superman proceeds to slaughter all his men.

That's just a couple, there's way more, but wordcount's gotta wordcount. They took a completely fine storyline and broke it for no real reason. The story is visibly worse and in exchange, what did we get?

Why is everything so terrible? Will this shit ever actually end or have the commies just won completely at this point?

Communism is more of a religion than an economic system. What kind of economic system has an End of Times prophecy?

It had worse changes. In fact, this may be the first adaptation of a Millar comic that was far worse than the source material.

What did All Star Superman have?

It removed the entire bizarro planet segment but really not to any detriment.

It also removed doomsday jimmy as well as the nods to a possible Superman clone or 2.0 or whatever.

No they sort of hint of that in the end when Quintum is looking at what Luthor gave, in the movie

The other thing they took out was the time travel story and issue #10's story

>I didn't see the movie. Is it a straight adaptation of the comic, or did it have weird shenanigans like ASS and Killing Joke?
its not a straight adaptation, the comic and the film are two very different things desu

the film just borrows the premise and scenario really

Red Son came to the same conclusion as Stalin. The system itself leads to that type of policing.
See this is where the comic is 'better' because it resolves this issue with Luthor's world.

THe Bizarro change made me sad. He was my favorite thing in the comic.
And he was anti-american as fuck in there too, it's not a matter of politics, I am not even American.

>Millar
>Burger

>Millar
>American
Soviet Communism
Please do not ever comment on a Red Son thread ever again.

Capitalism worked up until the internet was invented and our competition was no longer joe down the block but Jayesh in india willing to work for 5 dollars a week

It was evil dictator superman vs Ultrachad Lex Luthor.

Cool story bro but how does it related to Red Son?

>chad
Your generation was a mistake.

That page introducing Lex Luthor by having him play like ten blind chess games at once is really funny tbqh

>What kind of economic system has an End of Times prophecy?

Really? Huh, didnt know that about communism.

Global Corporate Liberalism was always Capitalism's endgame, if it wasn't then the communist boogeyman Karl Marx couldn't have predicted it in Das Kapital. Marx was a shit political scientist but as a critic of capitalism he was dead on. None of which relates to the shit show that was the Red Son adaptation, holy Christ was it bad. Seriously, without any exaggeration, it was one of the worst adaptations in a whole decade of horrid adaptations. Whoever wrote the script treatment should be beaten with a rubber hose.

Probably because he's the movie's target audience, since the general message conveyed was dumbed down from
>Neither pure capitalism or pure communism work, and the system will fall apart if you blindly follow its ideals
To the ol' Hollywood classic
>Communism bad

i fucking hate the animation in all these movies. the artwork in the comics is good, but it always looks so fucking bad when developed into a movie.

American propanda..."communism can't work, but we spend half century stoping around the world"

>Why is everything so terrible?
AT&T. They have their puppeteers hand up DC (and Warner and HBO's) asses, and drive all the major decisions, and they are fucking godawful at creative decisions.

The window of acceptable moral messages for any story is extremely narrow in the US, and is getting narrower.

I'm not sure why so many people keep consuming stuff that is as predictable as capeshit mythos. Probably just for comfy feels of familiarity.
