Gonna be honest. I completely forgot about this episode, and I'm willing to bet so did Genndy.
I'm not sure why, but I have an incredibly easy time just pretending that Korra isn't canon. Like, deep down, I suppose I know that it is, but still, I've rewatched Avatar a dozen or so times, and only watched Korra twice, and between the absolute nonsense that Bryke included in Korra and the actually decent ATLA comic series still running, I can just tuck my head in the dirt and pretend it isn't real.
Varrick and Zhu-Li are the only real loss by erasing Korra from my mind.

the story of korra deliberately cuts itself off from the previous characters and includes them mostly as cameos with no character development of their own, so it doesn't feel like a natural continuation of the first show's story at all. i'm still pissed that sokka never got a real conclusion like the rest of the main cast, aside from his flashback speech that didn't give any detail about his personal situation. we got a full look into the others' lives, even the uncomfortable shit like their family drama and romantic breakups.
