The French are at it again.
Droners
It's some kind of mario kart/oban star racers racing show with interesting environments.
It's a simple show, but cute and innocent.
>still no subs
Why do French cartoons always feel like they're trying to be Japanese?
we need another agincourt or waterloo desu
Anime influences western cartoons and vise versa, the french just aren't ashamed to admit it.
the writing is horrendous, characters keep talking in a really unnatural way.
The English have contributed nothing of value to the world.
Eh, drone racing doesn't seem as dramatic as piloted craft space racing.
All those dramatic moments in Oban would be less so if Molly was sitting safely in her base.
because its better
I get your point but the sense of risk and danger comes in other forms. The survival of the main characters' archipelago hinges on winning the cup and the drones are fragile. Having them crash and burn is a big deal, there are entire episodes dedicated to repairing drones / getting rare spare parts. The tracks themselves also feature threats that would be deadly to pilots.
Monty Python is based you fucking nonce
As far as cartoons are concerned all french kids in the last 40 years have grown up watching anime.
Ok, one thing of disputable value.
because young french were already watching anime before the USA invented it
>The survival of the main characters' archipelago hinges on winning the cup
Does it? Because in the episodes I've watched they've sure done a shitty job of establishing that.
I wanted to say something about Oban Star Racers on the video's page, but then........ noticed it's the people who made the thing.
You are speaking their tongue, you cretin.
I agree. They say it in promotional material but it didn't really come up so far (I don't speak french though, I get by with the few latin-derived words that stick out).
imagine the smell and taste
>You are speaking their tongue, you cretin.
And that is supposed to be a good thing? That messy Germanic bastard with hardly any rules to it and grammar that most likely led to the whole "preferred pronouns" thing? Have you ever noticed how it's mostly a thing in the Anglo-sphere? It's not any kind of gender or psychology thing, it's a consequence of the language. And now it's trying to impose its stupid rules on other languages with things like Latinx.
the 1v1 format is also really bad, as you know they will always win, there's no score system or anything to allow some defeats.
Because anime and manga are huge in France and have been for like 35 years now?
How do people not know this in 2020?
but does it have a cute brown girl?
>trying to be japanese
They show rankings occasionally, so there must be some sort of score system in place. Yesterdays episode also had a 1v1v1.
french cartoons still have soul. unlike soulless amerimutt cartoons
Where do you think the term "ouiaboo" came from? The funny pun?
>the x year old droner
>Where do you think the term "ouiaboo" came from?
It came from this comic.
Specifically this comic.
It didn't mean anything, people just used it to get around wapanese being wordfiltered, then it took on a meaning of its own from then.
Because you are watching a cartoon heavely influenced by the japanese. Not every french show goes for that
Start speaking française then, you little shit, or accept your nature as the eternal hypocrite.
HOLLY SHIT! How old are you?
To be more precise, it's a bastard child of this and Zig Forums
Yes you heard it, Weeaboo being used to denominate western people who are into Japanese culture stem fromchan.
It was because more and more people were using the word "wapanese" on Zig Forums and the mods and/or moot had enough of the flood of it and made a script that automatically replaced wapanese to weeaboo, as a reference to this comic, indicatating anyone using that word should be hardly spanked.
fucking ouiaboos
any production news on this or just the teaser still?
looks cool. wonder why cant americans make cartoons like this anymore
I only know it's based on a BD that I must translate someday, aside from that I think they are still on production limbo
