Would you watch it, Zig Forums?

No

Maybe

I don't know

What was the question?

Didn't even watch the Joker. No intention of watching Mr. Freeze.

ICE to meet you

Yeah. Honestly, Freeze is a much easier sell as a protagonist.

if it's heightened reality, I'll always go for some fries

Hard maybe.

It would be a good departure from the Joker and Harley wankery

Freeze is actually a sympathetic character unlike society man so yes.

not that they would go this way but, could you even make a Freeze story thats grounded in reality like Joker?

Depends on who's directing,

you can't stretch it to a 90 min movie, it just doesn't work

DON'T YOU LIKE MR. FREEZE STYVON??

He's not wrong that it could be a decent solo film if they just fleshed out everything the show already did right but didn't get a chance to fully explore. Problem is it won't have the absolutely gorgeous and stunning artstyle that worked so well in tandem with the story. Those bright red eyes contrasted with the soft natural ones, that gentle misting on the sides of the helmet, those shadows, all of which would be hard to work in live action.

It might end up doing something better if someone competent is in charge. Because Heart of Ice didn't get a chance to really invest us in Nora outside of what she meant to Freeze, if the story actually included her and the chemistry worked it would enhance an already great story. But, then again, we'd lose out on the juxtaposition with the snow globe, where what's inside is beyond his touch and only exists in his thoughts. So even that might hurt more than help.

I dunno, he's got good intentions here because he can see the potential from what is undoubtedly one of Batman's very best villain showcases, but I feel like what it would have to be, a mixture of desperation and character combined with action to show how far he's willing to go, just isn't something they'd let happen without trying to cram in useless filler like the healthcare industry or something. He might have a good idea but forgive me for being wary of less talented writers trying to cram in social issues to hide their obvious flaws, especially in a story centered around a woman who cannot participate in the story.

Why not a Clayface movie?

>not that they would go this way but, could you even make a Freeze story thats grounded in reality like Joker?
it would be hard to justify the freeze gun
but "my wife is dying and healthcare isn't going to do anything about it" is something a lot of people can appreciate and americans generally like regular guns

Yes? Obviously. There's numerous untreatable skin conditions out there that makes you extremely sensitive to heat and we do have cryo freezing, we just don't have it working on live humans yet and won't until we figure out a better solution, but considering the entire thrust of the film is Freeze going too far while eventually accepting he can't go back even though he longs for it, it wouldn't be hard to work in modern day limitations into the final twist and have his work be ultimately for nothing since they can't unfreeze Nora even if he did find a cure.

Not like spraying stuff that makes ice is some weird scifi shit.

No I watched Joker because I related to him as an incel, Mr. Freeze's drama movie, while maybe good doesn't interest me. I don't like cinema normally

>it would be hard to justify the freeze gun
Justify him having it or justify it existing? Because laser cooling is a thing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_cooling

The suit and the ice gun are essential for Mr. Freeze, but those would be difficult to make them seem not goofy.

only if the last 30 min is his encounter with the bats
you can do it tragic yeah but we need the suit and he failing to protect her

yeah what made mr freeze appealing is not just the backstory alone, it is the mignola redesign, and TAS's whole noir deco "it's the 80s but also the 40s" dark-science motif.

a tragic madman in a spacesuit with a freeze ray thrives in that setting. and the trend with batman now is to go more and more "real". Mr. Freeze and reality don't mix.

it's just an entire movie about a "nice guy" with freeze powers getting cucked

>Justify him having it or justify it existing? Because laser cooling is a thing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_cooling
Both.

It's not a thing that's going to realistically be in the hands of a scientist who's going to go around freezing people out of spite with a diamond-powered laser gun while wearing a cryostasis mecha suit.

Realistically, he'd just have a gun and a cold attitude. The opposite of Joker, no emotions shown. Still has them, just not shown.

BTAS Freeze looked like a 1950's spaceman and everyone took him seriously.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for villain stand alone movies

JUST USE ANARCHY.
Thats the easiest character that would work for that version of that Jokers universe

Attached: Anarky.jpg (1468x826, 989.57K)

Well the gun's an easy answer, he stole it, but since we're specifically using Heart of Ice as the baseline a much better way to work in the suit is have him wear an astronaut's suit. Heart of Ice freeze specifically was tailored after 1950's space scifi heroes, after all, and the one from the 1960's, black and white version, did just wear an astronaut costume. Why overcomplicate things trying to justify why he's in robot armor when you can just say he has a skin condition making him sensative to heat and oh hey look at that we have an EX1-A Apollo suit from the 1960's in the back, in blue even! And those are specifically made to be able to regulate tempratures. You keep the stylistic foundation that worked the first time, the in universe justification is simpler to come across, and we don't have to just make him a guy with a skin condition and a handgun.

There's an answer right there.

you could make up some shit about how since he was making a break through in cryogenics, he knows of a solution that reacts directly with blood that causes the body to either go into a state of suspended animation for a while or outright die. delivered like a tranquilizer dart.

A5-L, bottom far left, would unironcially be a good Freeze outfit. It's just that right amount of cheesy yet practical, and that color scheme!

The Joker's universe was wildly base. There was no super science, it barely had the level of technology we have today. The greatest technological invention in the movie was an automatic glass sliding door that didn't even work well.

why is catwoman black

Isn't Freeze an actual incel stalker now though
If people had problems with the Joker movie, this one will raise hell

Yeah, Just make it almost as good as the episode and don't be afraid of going sci-fi by trying to be "realistic".
Get Mignola to do designs for the suit and Freeze's equipment since he did the Mr.Freeze design for the animated series.

>There was no super science,
Counterpoint, some guy recorded Joker on stage 5 years before camcorders hit the market and the only thing that would work and exist is 16mm film that was costly to develop but apparently he wasted it on a performance of some random guy in a dingy comedy club.

There doesn't need to be any super science in Freeze either, just some guy having access to real life technology he normally wouldn't have to move the plot along. It doesn't have to be set in the 70's again.

>Isn't Freeze an actual incel stalker now though
They retconned that out in one of the universe resets, and literally nobody missed that shitty plotline.

>Isn't Freeze an actual incel stalker now though
He hasn't been that for a decade now. Shit son Nora came back and is Mrs. Freeze I have no idea what's going on with that shitshow, I dropped Batman a while ago.

No.

I would watch it. But Freez character hangs on his attachment to his wife. So they better find a way to make the audience actually give a shit or it just wont work

>Shit son Nora came back and is Mrs. Freeze I have no idea what's going on with that shitshow, I dropped Batman a while ago.
She thought she was going to die, and came back, and now has ice powers.

She doesn't want to settle down with him, when she can be out living life. So she left him. It's implied she might be in the new Heart of Winter event coming up.

In a cartoon user.

BTAS Freeze also had a menacing voice and turned his ice gun on a room of wealthy Gothamites. If you can get into a crowded room full of rich people at your mercy, anybody will take you seriously, even while you're doing 1980's action movie quips.
