Castlevania

Is anyone looking forward to season 4? Season 3 was mostly filler.

I hope that after they're finished with the Castlevania 3/Curse of Darkness plot, they just go and go for Castlevania: The Adventure and Belmont's Revenge. Give my man Christopher the time to shine.

Yeah, The Adventure was absolute dogshit, but Belmont's Revenge was better and Adventure: Rebirth was great.

I hope they actually do a Curse of Darkness plot instead of wanking the main trio. Hector deserves his time in the spotlight.

Christopher would be risky, but it might be kino.

>Is anyone looking forward to season 4?
I'm certainly not. I don't think I'll even watch it honestly. I appreciate the artstyle, even if its sold on it being "anime", and its popularity likely leading to more varied western animations, but the show itself I've given up on

Yeah, that's understandable given how shitty season 3 was.

Isaac is gonna become Death, mark my words.

>Is anyone looking forward to season 4
I will reluctantly watch it in hopes that they can salvage the shit show that was Season 3. After that, if they aren't jumping to Simon I will be done with the show.

>Isaac is gonna become Death, mark my words.
No, because this has been something many people, myself included, have speculated, theorized and assumed is going to happen since Season 2.

To be fair, just the stuff with Carmilla and Hector was shit. Issac's stuff wasn't all bad and the Trevor and Sypha parts were just plain the best parts of the season.

I'd hope they do Curse of Darkness and stop fucking over Hector, but at this point they'd probably just ruin that too, somehow.

Only if they ditch the vampire politics and stop trying to be game of thrones.
It's a franchise about a vampire hunter killing dracula. How hard can it be?

Shouldn't there already be a death? I'd assume people can fucking die in this universe and they're not just lying around in unimaginable pain unable to escape their mortal coils no matter the damage.

Maybe it works by santa clause rules and if you kill death you become the new death.

>Season 3 was mostly filler.

Yeah, filling Alucard's ass with cock.

DEATH IS WHOEVER DOES DEATH'S JOB.

I wonder what Kojima's up to these days. Last thing she did was this painting for some J-rock album cover.

She did some art for Grimoire of Souls before it was canned.

>To be fair, just the stuff with Carmilla and Hector was shit.
Did you erase the part with Alucard from your mind bro? Cause that was the shittiest part, like only 2/4 were decent so wouldn't really call it a good season

Alucard's arc was pure abortion.

Honestly I think the weakest thing about Season 3 was that it didn't commit hard enough to being filler.

If they'd gone the whole hog and made the whole series people sitting around in rooms talking, maybe a little training, one or two low-level monster hunts with Belnades and Belmont, the torture with Hector, bigger monsters with Isaac and more psychological horror with Alucard slowly going crazy, that would've worked.

Instead they clearly had a prerequisite number of action scenes and the only plot they could think of to string them together was a rehash of S1. The weird Devil May Cry multiverse easter egg was also heavily shoehorned in (when you think about it, it's kind of the main Macguffin), which means that whole plot with St Germain was all useless.

But honestly? Seasons 1 & 2 were some of the best Dracula media ever made. Not a small arena to be seen in. I've been waiting for a Castlevania adaptation since I was 11, I've been wanting Warren Ellis' script to be realized since it was a movie, I think it's a miracle we side-stepped a Paul WS Anderson movie and I think it's a miracle that this show was made, never mind that those seasons (effectively the two-hour movie script) became one of the most lauded and, probably, the best Zig Forumsidya adaptation ever made.

You're damn right I'm gonna watch Season 4. I don't even have Netflix. I'm gonna get it for one month.

>Christopher is your favourite Belmont

How? He's not even canon.

Trevor and Sypha's interpersonal interactions were great, but the plot they were caught up in was just plain retarded.

That's clearly what they're building to. If that's your opinion then anything you should be pro-"filler" as OP called it. They're spending time building up your pet character so as to give him a big emotional catharsis later.

>"it's not REAL anime"

Oh hey, 2006! I didn't see you there.

>seething

This is the last time I'm gonna say it.

Nyarlathotep.

Look, he's got the same hood! Kinda!

Not that user but if that's the point then they're not doing a great job from it imo, 2 seasons already and the show hasn't really bothered to show us Hector has anything going for him besides his forging or give him a plot that doesn't involve him getting lied and used by a vampire (it's been 3 times already lol) or Ellis putting in his fetishes. In fact it seems like only thing S3 achieved is most of the audience losing the little sympathy they had for him because they find his situation fapworthy or they think he's an idiot that doesn't learn from his mistakes. He has no agency, no motivations, barely any development, no sympathetic qualities or shown skills that would make him able to turn his situation around.
Now there's a good chance the show won't continue after S4 since it lost its only writer (and he wrote S4 to serve as an ending too) so are they gonna try and cram all the development in just one season? Would feel rushed and unearned imo.
I don't have anything against slow character build up, but here I'm just not seeing any kind of actual "build up" for the character itself at all.

> Seasons 1 & 2 were some of the best Dracula media ever made.
Maybe if you skip the entire middle part of season 2 where fucking nothing happends.

>all the character dynamic building
>nothing happens

How did your ADHD let you pay attention long enough to hit "post"?
