I agree female sexuality is wrong and should be restricted.

Pre-New52 Starfire was plenty sexual and literally everyone loved her.
Post-New52 Starfire was a brain damaged whore and everyone hated it.

It's almost like The New 52 was trash.

New 52 Outlaws was hot garbage so I don't blame Lucy at all

What's worse. Post-New 52 Starfire or live action Starfire who legit looked like a crack whore.

They were bad for different reasons. New 52 Starfire butchered the character, whereas Titans Starfire had probably the worst goddamn costume in the show for some reason.

Lucy made the correct choice.

Diversity.

>everyone loved her
I've always disliked Teen Titans but ok.

They could've done a diversity hire and not given her a shit costume.

>I bet you Lucy likes Cardi B, Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and a bunch of other women who make Starfire's comic self look like a nun.

>Pre-New52 Starfire was plenty sexual and literally everyone loved her.

Wasn't she forgotten and abandoned in limbo until the cartoon?

Exactly but remember Starfire has red hair. So no way would they paint her orange.

I remember being willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when it was just a set photo by some rando, but this is what she and the other three look like in production stills, staged to appear as good as possible.

I just don't understand how costuming fuckups happen like this in professional productions. Yes, she has the worst costume, but Raven is barely better (if only because she's in 'normal' clothes) with an equally fake wig, and Beast Boy looks like he got a dollar store dye job. Their only saving grace is that Inhumans exists to be worse.

Why don't black actors and black artists make their own characters who are black instead of getting hand-me-downs that used to be white or something else?

And image

I think people would've given Starfire in the show a pass if her wig wasn't so terrible. I remember seeing a ton of people in the black community making fun of how bad the wig was.
If they gave her something better, she'd still look like a prostitute, but at least she'd be a sexy prostitute.

difference is they shake their ass, show their tits and whatever else not for the purpose of titillating a male audience as proof of their empowerment, meanwhile Slutfire was conceived as only being appealling to coomers.

the point the comic is making is that if DC wanted new readers they should've put more thought in how these characters would've been received by a new audience who most likely doesn't know anything about them or only know them from different & more popular media like cartoons and movies.

She'd better not, or she gets a whip for slacking off instead of picking cotton.

Because it takes actual effort and creativity to come up with new characters plus they enjoy replacing popular characters that are white to dig the knife in a little more at whitey.

I hate all of this but hate star's outfit the most. The whole point of her character is to resemble 50's B movie characters while this just makes her look like a lady of the night who sells her body for crack.

>Copeium.

implying the tt starfire wasnt fugable

Because they won't have decades of history and familiarity.

Some of these are just to pad the list. There have been a half dozen Little Orphan Anny adaptations, for example, having a Black Anny is not exactly slamming the Ruined Forever button.

This image has been debunked. There is no anti-ginger conspiracy. Go back to Zig Forums.

Raven looks like a girl I dated in HS.

Absolutely. By far the people who should be the most upset about this are the actress and anyone looking for a Positive Black Role Model, because that look is actively courting every black streetwalker stereotype it can think of. That doesn't even show her stupidly high boots that would make her unsteady in a stiff breeze.

why is jimmy up there twice?

and if i to assume thats a black chick playing josie up there, id valerie still black?

Yes, but the comic fails to mention that TT Starfire was nothing like pre-Flashpoint Starfire either. On top of that TT had contemporaneous tie-in comic that Lucy apparently wasn't reading, nor does it seem like Lucy ever actually engaged with pre-Flashpoint Starfire materiel either. While it may seem like a valid point on the surface, in context of Lucy refusing to ever read a DC comic book just because one character isn't the same as in the cartoon she watched as a little kid paints her as nothing more than a nostalgia obsessive. What makes this strip really funny in hindsight is that just shy of 4 years later DC released a Starfire solo series that used the TT characterization and design cues that only lasted 1 year.

Also DoA Lucy is simping hard for Walky who is not only clearly not into her but also fucking Amber and trying to get with Dorothy so it's shit taste all around unless she starts hooking up with Carla.

You think these actors have much say in their getting the roles.

The decision to racebend comes from (mostly white) people behind the scenes cynically making the product "diverse" by adding one or two more black (and only black) people.
Everyone in that picture is just working.

>No anti ginger-conspiracy
The picture is proof of it, fren.

>guys thats racist and obviously fake
shut the fuck up niggerjew
