As for in-story deal you don't know more than what's in this thread, barely anything. Yeah he could be an antagonist but he could just be that snarky character around to mock all the other characters. I remember when Buffy: the Vampire Slayer always had to have at least one (Cordelia, Anya, and then Spike) the "Token Evil Friend" the friendlier versions are just assholes but genuinely friends with the protagonists while the more antagonistic ones might kill the protagonists but they also might not, any given day could go either way given how they're feeling.
I mean he could genuinely just be there for shits and giggles and to snark and even help them because even though he's not a good guy he has fun with his bros at the HH. Might be more of a twist than actually be "the" bad guy. Who knows.
