One of my friends that faps to all the Korra porn he can was already offput by the show in the first episode by the sheer fact that Korra got her powers to early and hated republic city when he finally got around to watching it. Hating Korra is basically a meme at this point. Everyone knows it's bad, but daily threads where anons performatively declare how much they hate it have become a Zig Forums staple.

All of the villains are good except her uncle and Amon gets cucked at the end. Other than that they’re compelling.

I usually agree when someone calls out Zig Forums for being hyperbolic in their hatred towards something, but this is the one exception. LoK was actually dogshit.

Season 3 was definitely the best, but it's by default in that it still wasn't good, it just didn't fuck up as bad as the other 3.

Season 1 was trash. It didn't even attempt to explore the questions around non-bender oppression that it raised. Amon being a hypocrite didn't prove what he represented was wrong.

Korra getting her bending back at the end was stupid too. If she had accepted that she could only bend air, that would've been a powerful development from someone whose main arc was about her identity/self-worth being too tied up in being the avatar, and her fear of losing that status. Instead they undermined it completely by giving her bending back immediately. She was literally just contemplating suicide beforehand for fuck's sake. I know they address this in later seasons, but it's still shit - especially since it was originally only going to be 1 season.

The best word I can describe s1 with is 'hollow.' There's just nothing to it at all. No thematic development, no character development, nothing. I could forgive it all of that if it was at least fun. But it's not. Just annoying characters and their stupid contrived love triangle bullshit.

Fuck season 1 pissed me off so much.

Season 1 was ok when everyone thought it was setting up a decent parallel to Aang. We all though it would be "Aang was a pacifist and diplomat in a world at war that needed a soldier so he needs to learn to be strong, so Korra will be a powerful brute that doesn't care about social norms and flattery and needs to learn diplomacy and spirituality"
But then she just punched really really hard to beat Amon and the delusion fell apart.

Season 2 was just awful. The first half was Korra being a complete and total idiot well beyond what's reasonable while ignoring Unalaq twirling his cartoon moustache and tying women to train tracks

Season 3 was easily the best season. The Red Lotus did a lot of really dumb shit for no reason but it was still more compelling than season 1. The biggest problem besides a general lack of focus is that the Red Lotus would realistically stand no fucking chance against any of the 4 nations.

Season 4...do I need to talk about how stupid it was for them to fight a giant robot?

From interviews with Mike and Bryan it seems they had a plan all set out for season 1 but then a few episodes in got bored with it and started changing shit
Like Asami. Asami was supposed to be the female chi-blocker in the resistance and was getting close to Mako as a spy.

Show writers stripped Korra of any redeemable qualities, so all that remain is a tan titted tomboy.

It seems the consensus is that S3 is the best, I dropped the show after S2 gave us that horrible death of the Avatar cycle, how does S3 handle that?

The only real complaint I have about Legend of Korra is Korra losing connection to her past lives which is one of the coolest parts of being the Avatar.

Pretty much ignoring it. Ravaa had 1 line for the rest of the show and no one seems to give a shit that the past lives are gone despite being the most critical part of the Avatar, especially for their role as a neutral arbiter.
