ITT: Failed webcomics.
Not necessarily dead or bad ones. Just comics that failed to achieve their goals.
ITT: Failed webcomics
>failed webcomic
You mean failed author. Morbi had the chance to make something great and pissed it away
I'd like to believe most people are smart enough to see why the comic itself was going to not satisfy no matter who wrote/drew it. Also please give other examples so we can actually talk about webcomics.
I've tried shilling Drogune a few times with no luck. Comic just seems to repel people.
It's lore heavy and boring. So new readers are hesitant and those that have read it aren't that interested in it.
>furry comic
automatically shit
It still hurts.
It hurts so much,
I guess that makes sense. Think I could get people more invested by presenting it in a different way?
I think that only counts if the art screams "I draw degenerate porn," like Morbi's does.
>I guess that makes sense. Think I could get people more invested by presenting it in a different way?
I read through the comic and I didn't find it that interesting. It's just all this worldbuilding through dialog.
Yeah, but Poppy was mostly that as well and it managed to get a following for a while. Makes sense, though. Can't force people to get invested.
To add to the thread, Cucumber Quest spiralled to death because Gigi refused to condense her chapters.
Poppy got more popular during the tournament. I hadn't even heard of the comic before that and at that point it was getting threads for every new page with plenty of posts. After the tournament ended the interest died down and then there were the delays, Morbi got his water turned off, and then went to text only. And like most failed comic artists he went to doing commissions.
It was still fairly popular until a little after the gang chapter. The turning point wasn't the tournament, it was when the comic stopped being episodic adventures with a background plot.
>I'd like to believe most people are smart enough to see why the comic itself was going to not satisfy no matter who wrote/drew it.
this sentence is meaningless, outside of brushing your own ego. Bring arguments or just go slice your neck, shitstain.
>I think most people would have X opinion.
>"YOU'RE JERKING YOURSELF OFF HRHRRR"
Not everything is about looking better than other people, user. Either way, even if Morbi wasn't a huge spaz, the comic would need to change dramatically to actually work. It was on the same track as Paranatural. The scope of the intended story was way too big compared to the actual pacing of the comic and the rate that pages could realistically be produced at, and the plot was starting to remove all meaningful conflict and intrigue in order to make way for more exposition. It either needed to lower its long term scale or contract massively and speed the fuck up. They were 300 pages in and not even halfway through the first of three acts. That's way too fucking long for such a simple story.
I think it's because Flynn's fanbase are really attached to the Sonic franchise and not him.
Morbi never had a plan, he only had lore
>80,000 dollarydoos raised
>8 pages
Guess it was 10,000 for each page lmfao
I'd say homosuck but that's fruit hanging so low you need a shovel to get it.
Tails Gets Trolled is the one. Masterpiece of ironically shitty webcomics which just kinda got dropped mid-arc. That one Scooby & Shaggy comics which transitioned from horror to JoJo ripoff and immediately fucking tanked in terms being interesting.
>ironically
I would agree with those points. I personally didn't like how Mirbi threw in flashbacks in the middle of a story that took upwards of a year to get through before getting to the current story.
The fanbase also deserves some blame. There was a few aggressive retards who attacked anyone who asked any questions about the comic.
God I forgot about this.
Erfworld comes to mind as a spectacular failure in both what the author set out to do, and in what the readers actually wanted from it. And then it crashed and burned.
Is that Mad Magic?
It's only been hiatused for a few months. Not a great sign, but I've seen comics bounce back from worse.
what the fuck does morbi even do now
its like he fucking died
Furry porn commissions. Fucking duh.
Illuminated, if you're there please tell me one thing:
Porn when?
user, he's given up.
It wasn't getting any traction and his moral was at an all time low.
It's over.
I mean he could use that to apply himself and make better comics.
can
can I see them
Go to his patreon and fork out $10 or so. Or search e621 for morbi.
>e621
He purged that place years ago.
i'm too lazy to do either of those things
Well you're not missing much because his art sucks.
