well, there’s this, and there’s vanity smurf and the entirety of how he acts, and theres brainy and clumsy’s “friendship” stuff that if you replaced one of them with smurfette would be seen as a romantic relationship, and there’s the fact that both vanity and lazy have refused kisses from smurfette. so at least 2 smurfs are attracted to guys

Why would the male smurfs have "urges" towards Smurfette if there aren't any female smurfs? They feel amorous to her, which only makes sense if there are other female smurfs for the male smurfs to feel amourous towards her! And where is Grandma Smurf from if female smurfs aren't natural?
I think the Sony movie is the best explanation, the girl village is different then the boy village. Though it doesn't explain why Papa Smurf didn't just send Smurfette to the girl village to live.

So most of the smurfs are the same age, correct? All are 99 years old except Papa Smurf, Baby Smurf, Grandpa Smurf, and the two Golems (Smurfette and Sassete)? And it's also been hinted that Baby Smurf is the next Generation Papa Smurf.
I think Smurfs are like sea creatures or such. At the end of their life they mate and die, without raising their kids. A Papa Smurf and a Mama Smurf is made at a slight off-set to the cycle in order to raise the new smurfs, and that's why the males and females are separated.
