'Save the girl' is an old and honored trope, about as old as 'savage wilderness vs tyrannical civilization'; there's no need to get your britches in a twist. If anything, the show's just leaning a little harder into it's roots in Conan stories.

This relationship dynamic is already a fuckton better than the Ashi shitshow, mostly on the account of Mira not seeming like a daughter to begin with.

People aren't fussing about Ashi because of the whole is she a daughter or romance option thing, they're fussing because Ashi's existence fucked up the story. Few people wanted a romance plot, fewer still would want to suffer an entire episode of just her going around meeting the people Jack helped AFTER she'd already sided with him (if we had to suffer it better that that shit be done when she still wanted him dead to actually introduce internal conflict), even fewer still than that we're happy with her O MY AKU POWERS dues ex machina time travel, and nobody at all was interested in the obvious plot line of her disappearing after Aku died because for some reason they made it happen way later as opposed to immediately after his death as a poorly executed attempt at a tear jerker.

This place got infested by tumblr and reddit tourists who want an echo chamber of positivity and psychoanalyze anyone who disagrees with it.
