Idk I think it's too early to tell but I do think the use of a blue moon and specifically associating that color with Mira was intentional. Probably supposed to show that she was an ally, because blue is a soothing color.

Season 1 now ends with Mira slowly learning how to cook new recipes for Spear, who isn't entirely interested in keeping her around, but she follows him and Fang because she's very allured to his big masculine aura and needs protection. Spear warms up to her on a normal level, but they do not become love interests. She doesn't fucking speak. Season 2 is the usual episodic attempts for survival with Spear and Fang, with new prehistoric threats and struggles for our duo, while Mira works her hardest to make delicious and unique meals out of their kills of the day. Genndy posts fictional, but fairly realistic, prehistoric cooking tips and recipes on his Instagram for female viewers based on the meals Mira has cooked for Spear that week.

It was too obvious a cliffhanger to not get followed up in the second season. They probably won't follow them right away because yeah other than just diving in and starting to swim they don't really have a way, but I'd be amazed if it wasn't the overarching goal for the second season. They can't really go back to completely isolated episodic plots after this.
