There is. One has magic power they can yield. The other has to depend on their "friends" for magic. It's like Frozen II made this distinction to not befall the same date as Pocahontas by implying native people are magic, though it still is pretty guilty of such sweeping generalizations with how much they made the Northuldra connected to nature. When will Disney learn that natives are just people and can be as destructive as anybody else? To say anybody is more or less something because of their birth is pretty damning.

Honestly hard to say. The trolls are cryptic and shouldn't be trusted, but the Northuldra are such teases when it comes to information. They both suck, though at least the Northuldra aren't obnoxious.

There's a big difference. Every troll is capable of using magic. They don't depend on anything or anyone, since the gift is innate to each of them.
However, the Northuldra can only ASK the spirits for permission to use magic. 34 years ago, permission was freely given to the point that anyone in the forest could just snap their fingers and light a fire instantly. But not anymore.
Now that the spirits are under Elsa's control, SHE is the one they have to ask. That means an entire society's access to magic comes from her, and her alone. I guess nobody can use magic when she's asleep, or when she's gone somewhere else, like Arendelle or Ahtohallan? What if she's unavailable for days at a time? Seems like quite the downgrade.

Mari did best with what she was given. Iduna does seem to accept responsibility for the mountain of lies she created, but it doesn't matter when they die soon after. Iduna is still a shit person who claims she didn't say anything because she didn't want to risk Agnarr's crown. And we did get a scene where they discover Elsa's powers as an infant. Bitch doesn't say anything then either.

Why would the Northuldra continue to live there? The spirits obey their white savior, not them. These same spirits tortured them for three decades. The forest might be magical,but they aren't benefitting from it anymore.

There’s definitely going to be a faction of Northuldra who want to leave. Many of them looked to be under 34 years old, so they have no idea what they’re even missing. Only the elders remember how things used to be. Finally free of the mist, I’m sure many of them are curious about Arendelle and want to travel there to see it. Elsa is going to be left alone with a dying tribe.
