How do you like your Chinese female protagonists?
How do you like your Chinese female protagonists?
I don't like asians.
Interesting and not boring.
Older
Not ugly
I like asians.
Is there supposed to be some kinda single stereotyped trait linking these three characters together, besides them being asian? Is it the shorts?
Over the Moon was such a bad movie.
I think they're all made by the same studio.
I guess I liked the school shooter one.
Explain?
30+ years old with an hourglass figure and a minor dominant streak.
Not bad. Just bland.
I swear the act 3 of that movie was OUT OF CONTROL and I adore it. It was like "Mommy I wanna be dreamworks/pixar" followed with "Ok time to go ape shit".
Okay it was bad EXCEPT for Chang'e. But Fei Fei was a weak protagonist, the songs were bland, there were too many wacky sidekicks. For a movie where the message is to learn how to let go of the past and allow new love into your life, Fei Fei doesn't do any of the latter because she ditches her step-brother the first chance she gets and spends basically the rest of the movie away from him. Also the gift being a piece of jade snuck into a mooncake was really random and weird, even for a movie about Chinese myths. I would've watched a movie just about this Chang'e, though.
It was something that came out, while I can understand her reason in snapping but it definitively help the film start out a bit.
>spunky but determined female protagonist
good to know it isn’t just the west plagued by this trope
The one with the robot was rated by Netflix as G for very young kids. The main character goes around vandalizing shit and tried to bludgeon her peer with a bat. A dude in the movie gets killed onscreen via disintegration. I had to turn it off then as I was watching with my 3 year old.
I prefer my Chinese to look like this
of age
Tomboyish with short hair
You might try this other G rated movie.
At a point, when it is an asian girl, it isn't defying gender norms so much as the reinforcing of the idea that asians lack sexual dimorphism.
I'm sure it is probably just a case of raging feminist animator twats self inserting or s{}y infused hipster queer animators looking around the studio and pointing at one and going "that is what an asian girl looks like!".
You're a pussy and your kid will grow up to be a pussy.
No they're not. None of them.
They look like they will grow up to exclusively fuck white guys.
So who would win in a fight?
>Fei Fei doesn't do any of the latter because she ditches her step-brother the first chance she gets and spends basically the rest of the movie away from him.
I'm pretty sure part of Fei Fei's conflict was trying to accept her step-brother.
I can see where you're coming from, though. Perhaps the adventure could've been them stuck together going through an adventure like a typical Pixar movie
These are all western movies.
TV-PG isn't G.
Only the left one has a color stripe or dyed hair, so she is the only actual Asian character
Mai with a baseball bat.
Yeah Mai without hesitation would kill a man.
