Why do people pretend the original Thundercats and She-Ra were masterpieces? They were always mediocre toy commercials disguised as cartoons.
Why do people pretend the original Thundercats and She-Ra were masterpieces...
Because the way they raped the franchises in the reboots make them look like masterpieces in comparison.
wow you just explain all 80s cartoons and children's anime.
Original she ra was ok, saw some screencaps from og thundercats, looked like anime in a good way
Imagine if you were a fan of the original, grew up with it, eventually collected some toys, things like that
Then you see the reboot has Adora forgiving the main villain who has killed people, destroyed the universe, and tried to kill her and they start dating so 15 year old freaks from South America on Twitter could clap to it for 2 months
The She-Ra reboot was great what the fuck are you talking about?
If you're a 40 or 50 year old that's getting genuinely angry at a reboot aimed for young teens you have much bigger problems.
It was the most pozzed shit to ever be made into a show. If you think it was great you must be a 14-year-old genderfluid dyke.
jerking off to the catgirls was fun
Fpbp
Wasn't OG Thundercats animated in Japan?
Let's be real here: You only liked the original Thundercats, She-Ra, and all the other toy commercial cartoons because you were a kid and didn't know any better.
They were good for their time and left a lot of good memories. If these shows were as mediocre as you say they were, why would someone want to reboot them?
Only watched first season, the designs were weak and the story was really inconsistent and sloppy. Really unexceptional and boring. Also animation was bad love how she ra swings her sword around like paper mache
Because they wanted to improve them? idk
a lot of animation was back when japan was the cheap place to go for it. i think korea and china are the top places now for cheap animation.
Damn nigga, you mean to tell me the first few episodes of a 5 season series weren't terribly complex and interesting? If only that improved over time or something.
And somehow both are worse then the originals
Not like they can’t be made better (Thundercats already did)
Shitting on the originals doesn't make your cucked reboots better, fuck off.
At least toy commercials have to try to be engaging.
They're not masterpieces but they sure are fun
90s cartoons feel like an upgrade
You look at Thundercats Roar and tell me how that's an improvement. Plus, they turned Cat-Ra from a Saturday morning villain to a universe-destroying abuser that got redemption because the creator based the villainess on herself.
I couldve quit after the second episode, not my fault if the show improves only after the how many number of episodes u deem lmao. Also the show was badly animated
That's why I said "wanted". I don't find them as improvements, honestly. First one is more like trying to make She-Ra appeal to online Tumblr people (and it worked).
the latter is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek comedy which could've been like TTG but the kids wouldn't get the referential humor while the adults find it as an insult worse than TTG
80s nostalgia bucks.
>the latter is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek comedy which could've been like TTG but the kids wouldn't get the referential humor while the adults find it as an insult worse than TTG
The arght style was the last drop, who can even bring themselves to watch that?!.
I find the animation somewhat interesting. Probably more suited as an adult swim animation imo
Nah, there nothing in these show would appeal to the audiences who watched the og. Doubt theyre not gonna stick around for name brand alone
Nostalgia and visceral Zig Forumsntrarianism against anything pandering SJW. I liked both thundercats (didnt care for the blobs, I mean pic related) and she-ra reboots.
This, I dont care how old are you since anyone can enjoy cartoons but if you are so annoyed with reboots just go watch the originals. Hell, show the originals to the newer generations and see for yourself how well they really hold up.
You can’t talk about the original without Nurafags talking about how you’re “gay erasing” not only talking about Noelles version
>Only watched first season
Thats your problem right there, this show really gets better over time. I think many people (including myself until I decided to actively change my attitude) dismiss a show because the pilot or first couple of episodes didnt hook them up. But something I noticed (specially in episodic series without too much lore) is that on season 2 is when the writers get more creative liberty from the producers and the show really starts to live up to its potential, just check out spongebob or mlp to name a few.
I'm pretty sure the first season's purpose is to draw people into the show. And apparently it didn't draw user.
I'm not particularly fond of Noelle's SheRa either. It focuses too much on the story compared to the action (and Noelle even admitted her disinterest in writing action) so it's not for me. I can't really judge on the story itself, though.
Original Shera had really solid writing
