Ironwood vs Watts was so good, but sadly highlighted the biggest problem with the show being that the main cast have no connection or ability to fight the main villains. Kinda sucks. Hope Ruby vs Cinder finally is the big fight this volume.

His power is basically having willpower, I shit you not. Mettle lets Ironwood 'focus' on doing what he sets out to do without doubting or second-guessing himself. It's a fucking stupid non-power because cool semblances are just not allowed anymore.
Players and Pieces was great. The fights against the Deathstalker and Nevermore are still my favorites in RWBY.

Qrow vs Tyrian round 1. The buildup was great, the song was great, it was fast paced and was the first real pro vs pro huntsman fight we got to see all the way through that had actual stakes. Only downside was that dumb moment where Qrow was disarmed and slowly walked towards his weapon.

Ren said it may or may not be connected, so we have no way of knowing, and even then, no way of knowing which came first. Though in Ren's case his personality shifted at the same time he unlocked his aura and semblance so chances are good Ironwood is just a Chad.

I'm just disappointed because it casts suspicion on all of his previous actions, was his CHAD energy so high that he made these choices, or did he make these choices when other options were artificially closed off? Plus I would have expected his semblance to be something more akin to Phantom Limb in that he retains even the finest motor skills if he loses a limb as long as he gets a prosthetic. Maybe it's the same issue, maybe it's a bit better, I just don't like that of all the things to give Ironwood they give him stubbornness.
