Peter Parker's power set is just so boring compared to almost everyone else. Miguel, Miles, Kaine...all have more interesting powers. I don't really like the reliance on gadgets unless you literally have no powers like Batman.

Smokes and mirrors and a healthy suspension of disbelief because it's a comic and the world surrounding Mysterio is ludicrous and stupid if you hold up a lens to it, so I'm willing to accept that his superpower is SFX.

And most importantly of all, his head. Peter's thinking is his most valuable and most versatile tool at his disposal. That's the point.
This may sound weird but I was actually surprised at how content I was regarding MCU Mysterio's methods. Drones with hologram projectors, equipped with various tools such as guns, flamethrowers, air cannons, and whatever work remarkably well to make any illusion seem real

Honestly you can't really go wrong with the first 100+ issues of Amazing Spider-Man. Peter starts strong right out of the gate.

i like the direction theyre slowly being miles towards. if spiderman is a mix of being in-touch with the community and being a scientist i think miles being fully invested with the friendly neighborhood thing is cool.
still don't think spiderman needs a sidekick though.

I think the best distinction you can make between Peter and Miles besides experience/powers is that Peter is the dork while Miles is the "hip" one. Like for example Peter's the guy you'd have a casual conversation with regarding new iphones, whereas Miles is the guy you chat current music

I don't like how over-powered it is but it is a new take. I find that exciting. I still think Miles should have only had invisibility and a weaker spider-sense to force him to be a naturally more stealthy option.

When I was a kid, I preferred "Web of" and "Spectacular" over "Amazing" and later adjective-less. I don't know why
Maybe in hindsight it's like those two titles were the true continuation of 70s 80s Spider-Man vibe while Amazing and Adjectiveless got more and more bonkers while the others stayed kind of grounded. Classy stories like "Funeral Arrangements" were going on in Spectacular while the Venom/Carnage nonsense was ramping up in Amazing

It's not a new take though, it's literally the same powers that jess has right down to the color and name
I didn't like the suit much but it grew on me using it in the game, though I am SUPER happy to see that the new three suits being released will FINALLY make the suit menu look even again

Superior Spider-Man for more brutal attacks and even more advanced tech or Silk and most of her moves would be lots of unique webbing attacks
