This is of course the final issue of Amazing Fantasy, once they realized they had a huge hit on their hands they scrapped AF and instead switched to all spidey all the time.

The problem with modern capeshit in a nutshell. Why publish more varied stories when you could just milk the shit out of a handful of characters?

That's that! Peter would next appear in Amazing Spider-Man #1 a few months later, and the rest is history.

Have you read Stan Lee's Sci-fi stories their not very good

Next up we've got Captain America Comics #1 from Timely Comics! Originally conceived by Joe Simon as "Super American", this came out a year before Pearl Harbor and was an enormous hit, selling over a million copies. We've also got art from one Jack Kirby, who I'm sure needs no further introduction.

Next up we've got Marvel's first family, the Fantastic Four! This was a gamechanger for the genre and the medium, and helped cement Lee and Kirby in comics canon.

What does this have anything to do with what he said?

60s Marvel is foundational capeshit

Next, we've got Hank Pym as Ant-Man in Tales to Astonish #35! Hank had shown up previously in the comic, but this was his first outing as Ant-Man.

God I love the Ant-Man suit so much, the best original Marvel costume imo.
