Watching the penultimate episode of season 3, seeing how Cassandra was so happy to want to make things right with Rapunzel. It would have been more effective and sad if she lost her life in the end ... seriously. She was so close to mending everything but a sabotage ruined everything.

>write the greatest love story of the 21st Century with Eugene and Rapunzel
>throw in Cassandra on TOP of that, a girl who is basically perfect for being Raps' lesbian love interest and would certainly have gotten with her if it weren't for Eugene

Why did they even do this? I mean, this was legitimately mean to Cass. You really gonna do her like that, give her the ultimate woman to fall in love with only for her to already be taken?

The more and more I revisit the 3rd season the more I think it was actively sabotaged by Didney. Whether it be because of spite or not wanting a Tangled character to be the lgbt icon or just shitdickery.

cass deserved better

I always thought this bitch farted on a horse, but it was actually Claudia from Dragon Prince. Sorry, Cassandra.

Being Cass is suffering. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

They finally do Raps face sculpture right

I do wonder about the metaphysical implications of Rapunzel literally being born as an avatar, an incarnation, of the Sundrop and then her just... giving it up.

Is she going to be like Frodo at the end of Lord of the Rings, where she feels a gaping absence in her life, a wound that never fully heals?

They tried to redo the same story they had already done with Varian but not as good. They didn't make her reasons sympathetic and they didn't make her redemption feel earned.

She filled any void of the Sundrop with the love of family

Also Eugene's magnum dong. That does most of the hole-filling

No forty minute sex scene

It is interesting to think about, isn't it?

The idea that maybe Raps isn't going to take losing the Sundrop so well.

What do we learn about Rapunzel throughout all three seasons? We learn a lot of things about her, because she's an extremely well-developed character.

And one thing we learn about her? She doesn't process loss well. Think about how broken and ruined she was about losing Cass, for at least the first half of Season 3, if not all the way to the series finale.

It's not really out of the question that she'd have a bad reaction to losing the Sundrop.

Actually that could be good fodder for a fanfic.

Rushed writing and their inability to humanize Cass after trying to make her a full-on villain didn't work.

Of course it was. S1 and S2 Tangled drew out plot-lines. Not in a bad way, it's just how the show went. S3 dealt with an invasion in one episode.

The first season has a good balance between Rapunzel, Eugene and Cassandra; even the episodes outside of them are interesting.
Season 3 on the other hand, has only one goal, Cassandra, so everything not focused on her conflict is uninteresting and even that conflict itself is poorly developed.
S3 leaves a lot to be desired.
