At first I was thinking that pearl raped garnet but then I realized that fusion is consensual and the only time there was implied fusion rape was when Jasper fused with that corrupted gem. So jasper can be considered a rapist when you get down to it.

I MEAN if you are going as far to say that lapis tricking jasper and forcing her to stay fused against her will for months with the intent of torturing her isn't rapey and you don't think pearl tricking garnet into fusing with her under the threat of homeworld destroying earth rapey either then you could make a case that when jasper fused with the doggo it was consensual because doggo wanted out of its cage and fusing with jasper helped it do that. for fusion to be initiated both parties have to agree to it, but lapis forced her partner to stay fused even after she lost her consent, and pearl only got garnet to agree by lying, which is not true consent, which would be the closest you could get to actual rape with fusion.
Custer is a special case because the diamonds are using unnatural methods to experiment with it and the shards don't have a will until after being force fused

on that note, Steven Universe is a fucking mess and I prefer not to think about the details too much because I'm fairly sure no one at the crewniverse did either (which isn't a bad thing per se, considering they valued the message they wanted to transmit over the story, and I commend them for sticking to that despite their circumstances).

you say that like the blame for the show coming out the way it did (or the rest of the animation industry changing, which is well beyond the scope of a single crew or show) falls purely on the crew's shoulders and not on CN who fucked them over (or, in the industry's case, external factors, changing trends, etc). mind you, they DID mess up, I'm not gonna defend them, but Sugar's managed to get a cartoon out while under fire for 7 years, that takes dedication and quite a bit of willpower. while I do have my critiques of the show and how the crew managed its production, I say good on them for having managed such a feat.
