>it's literally a big red dog
i don't see the problem

He cute

Let me guess, we're not going to have any scenes of him talking to other dogs.

Looks like a literal hellhound. Like something from the actual depths of hell. Dogs were not meant to be red and Clifford was not meant to be a live action CGI monstrosity.

Huh

summary from the book adaptation of the movie
>Emily Elizabeth is struggling to fit in at home and in school when she meets Clifford, a tiny red puppy who is destined to become her best friend.
>But when Clifford undergoes a magical growth spurt overnight, he attracts the attention of a genetics company looking for a way to supersize animals.
>With the help of her Uncle Casey, the people in her neighborhood, and some new friends made along the way, Emily Elizabeth and Clifford have to go on the run across New York City!

>Make a puppy
>Call it a dog

He's a big dog

For Emily

He's cute, but I feel like he shouldn't be a puppy. He looks like an adult in the books.
Unless this is some kind of origin story

>another "corporation bad" movie
for fuck sake...

WHOA is that another live-action adaptation of a children's movie??? Super excited!!!

Drenched in blood with a 1000 yard stare.

I don't believe you, even though all of that is believable.

>"Emily and her Uncle Casey have to fight the forces of greed as they go on the run across New York City"
Do executives have a checklist with "big evil scheme" written on it or something?

This horrifies my soul

My thought is they probably sized him down so he can better fit in shots with human actors. If he's the size of a house you can't have the dog and the humans nonverbally react in the same shot unless you want to pan to his face or do something with whatever appendage Clifford has in the shot at the moment.

Older clifford media got around this problem by either crouching him down and putting the humans near his head or using long shots to show both him and whoever he's interacting with.
They probably decided that the long shots wouldn't work because you couldn't read the actor well enough and it was too awkward to do indoor scenes where Cliffords head was visible.

Motherfucker looks like cujo

Clifford needed Emily
So he chose her for his own...

Just imagine the

>New York City!
Every fucking time.

>genetics company looking for a way to supersize animals.
Fucking WHY

Why do companies INSIST on pursuing retarded "hur corporation bad" plots in kids media? It's Clifford the fucking Big Red Dog, could they really not think of anything a little more homely than that?

Big pupper

> just an enlarged red colored labrador puppy
> way smaller compared to the cartoon bc muh realism

WHY IS IT ALWAYS NEW YORK

Can I have the sauce? Where did you find this?

I dread the porn.

They are easy targets. And corporations forsaking basic morality and innocence are a good contrast to the kid-friendly values promoted in these films.

Wow, that is stupid!

It's not like we can have an easy, comfy movie about a girl struggling in her new life and her dog helps her feel less depressed. Maybe it would be a focus on Emily growing up with Clifford acting as a sort of conscience, to help each other and understand the ever-changing surroundings of life. Despite all the bad, Clifford can represent like the bit of hope or light to get through things.

Aww what cute doggo

Cujo?

Because that was where Clifford started off in the original books

I read about this a couple times years ago, sorta interested but figured it was never coming out. Basic teaser, Clifford actually seems kind of small though. It kind of has a Lion King problem though where when it's adapted to this style it looses its uniqueness by just... being a dog but scaled up. As in it looks really bland. I don't really feel any negativity towards it like the Tom and Jerry live action movie trailer though.

>>Emily Elizabeth is struggling to fit in
are we really doing this

Cujo.
