They could have spent all this time making something about the gang going on an actual adventure. We really didn't need 2 "behind the scenes" shorts in a row. Also, only hearing Matt for most of it somehow made it feel disingenuous and not really Eddsworld. They could have made Edd talk more after they settled for his VA.
Also, what the hell is the hold up with recasting Tom?

Matt really understands what makes a cartoon appealing, I'm optimistic for his version.

wholeheartedly agreed. Looking at his old videos, Matt always had a good sense of humour. But those jokes seemed better suited for short gags. His writing really worked for this, still mostly short gags but strung together with a decent theme. I wonder if he'll ever be able to write full episodes like how Edd did, but it'll be interesting see what comes next.
I'm really glad to see Matt was both willing to take over and is a hell of a lot better at this than Tom was.

I’m not trying to hate on this otherwise harmless series, but at what point does someone’s dying wish inconvenience others to the point of them abandoning it? I’m not saying they shouldn’t continue to make this show, it represents early 2000s internet animation in a fond way, but people act like this show is some kind of artistic magnum opus, instead of a just well done internet cartoon.
I know it sounds like I’m fishing for a contrarian argument but I’m not. I understand that the shorts are good, I’ve seen most of them, I just don’t get why it’s such a cult phenomenon
