Why is DareDevil the most based comic-book character but gets no love other than from underground fans?

His only movie was crap. The TV show was generally well-received but was too dark and violent for general audiences.
Also as soon as you even touch religion you're gonna start polarizing mass audiences. Matt's Catholicism would almost certain put off some people.
I think what's great about Daredevil is that he rides that fine line between comic book surreal like Spider-Man, and grim and gritty like The Punisher. Moreover its interesting to see a "disabled" hero solving problems with just his fists and sticks
Strange how they never acknowledge his connection with the TMNT. You'd think they would've gotten a crossover with him before Batman. Matt versus Shredder would be cool. The Hand versus the Foot is a fight I'd love to see.
You know what I find really weird? That there's not turtle themed villain(s) for Matt to poke fun at the TMNT
With the Netflix contract finally being up I keep hoping they'll announce his return to the MCU but there's been nothing. Also really hoping that supposed, probably fake, leak from a few months back about a next gen game for him similar to Spider-Man's being in development is true.
>DareDevil
>based
user...
Punisher started out as a Spider-Man antagonist
He has got great big double ds on his chest and not the fun kind. He is the sort of character that best exists within the stylistic potential of a comic book page
he's lame
>Original run has its moments but pales compared to a lot of the gems of Silver Age Marvel
>Has a lot of gaps inbetween the standout runs that are either garbage or forgettable
>Casuals only know the darker attempts through adaptations so they won't try to get kids into it, lowering its appeal in that age bracket to some extent
I think they just don't care. TMNT used the base for an ok comic series that lived on through getting memorable adaptations, and Marvel don't need to acknowledge something that started as parody but got big in its own right
>great big double ds
Well fucking great, now I want a Rule 63 Daredevil with big honkers
I got you man
>No cleavage with each D on a boob
It's just not the same. But hey, hooray for early Adam Hughes
Everything I've ever heard about Daredevil amount to life shits on him and he struggles with guilt.
Doesn't sound like a fun run.
but Spider-Man has that too
bump
He has some really fun runs like Waid's even with the suffering. But even then the darker runs are just really good.
It's a Catholic thing.
But his good runs go on for longer than most.
Because he's boring, generic, limited, his weapon is fucking lame, his power is pointless, his suit is lame, his side characters are boring and not interesting, his only marketable villain was stolen by Spider-Man etc.
All of these points, except for the last one, can be applied to any superhero.
Bullseye please leave.
>But his good runs go on for longer than most.
I agree but I maintain that it lowers the discussion when so many people gravitate to maybe 5, 6 runs at most when you can ask people about Spider-Man and get a ton of recommendations.... ignoring the 90s.
These points I disagree with. The good runs do great stuff with his abilities, equipment, personality etc. Besides from which, it has nothing to do with the point of him not being as well-read amongst say, your X-Men fan
>his only marketable villain was stolen by Spider-Man
You do know that Kingpin started as a Spider-Man villain and then Daredevil "stole" him, right?
That's just stupid. A lot of superheroes became the kind of sellers they are/were because of avoiding those issues
Daredevil's rogues gallery is kind of limited and weak
what does that have to do with anything
nigga what
people on Zig Forums seem to not accept anything Spider-Man post-80s
>his power is pointless
But his power is exactly what helps make him stand out. Do you even radar sense bro
He's just a low rent spiderman
Only initially. He's been his own character for decades.
