The pilot is so kid friendly compared to the comic.
I honestly agree. The comic is really dense and bitter and the pilot felt too sanitized in comparison. Its too bad because something closer to the originals would fare far better in today's pop culture climate, but we're never going to see a revival.
It’s unfortunate because I like some of the voice acting, and it can work as its own thing pretty well. It’s just that from the source material. It’s like two different things.
I noticed in the pilot they had Willoughby there to be a lightning rod for their negativity
I really enjoyed the voice acting but everything else fell short when compared to the comic. It's not that it was bad, like you said. It's just it's own thing. I just wish we got more of the comics.
