>the viltrumites terrorize the universe for thousands of years >no one can stop them >even after almost getting wiped out by the scourge virus, the 50 viltrumites that are left are still a credible threat to the Coalition, an entire full-size interestellar civilization >in order to even the odds they need to go looking for the few things in the universe demonstrated to be even capable of harming a viltrumite AND get a few viltrumites on board before launching their strike >they can only do this because of inside info from 2 former viltrumite agents >meanwhile Robot literally just shits out drones capable of blowing viltrumites the fuck out in a few months >by exploiting a crippling and really obvious weakness in viltrumite physiology that the pentagon discovered in a few months of watching Mark but none of the alien civilizations they invaded before found
>the viltrumites are dying and need breeding stock >they find a planet whose people they expect to be 100% compatible with their dna >instead of sending some dudes to take samples and clone humans back home, they send one (1) person to manually fuck a human woman, which is eventually the downfall of their civilization as they know it
I like how Invincible made clear that Tony Stark is a de facto villain and basically Lex Luthor of Marvel
James Ross
I don't remember the finer details because it's been a long time since i've read it, but I don't think this is missing pieces. I'm not going to re-read it, but i'm sorry you didn't enjoy your cartoon funny book about people in tights flying through space
Camden White
>I'm not going to re-read it, but i'm sorry you didn't enjoy your cartoon funny book about people in tights flying through space Not OP but isn't Invincible a serious comic about if superhero shit was more realistic, rather than a funnybook?
Hudson Green
Is more of a mocking of several hero traits like Superman being an all powerful guy citizen of a racist dictadorship like Krypton being suspicious, or the fact Tony Stark shouldn't be forgiven for what he did at Civil War.
Brayden Foster
As I recall right. Robot only exploited:
1. Mark's senses. Something that can't be taken advantage of too good in a surprise attack or space.
2. A blind room that dulled his senses. And from there he made use of viltrumite zombies from an alt dimension to match mark.
Besides the aliens weren't all shit. Allen was pretty much the saiyn of the series and got strong enough to match the final one on one.
Also on the breeding thing, it wasn't take over 100% with the current empire. The kids they spawn were suppose to join in. And given that most planets don't have super heros (like DC, Marvel, etc) their arrogance of one man made sense.
Cameron Kelly
Lol no
Lucas Reyes
>>they can only do this because of inside info from 2 former viltrumite agents One of them was the leader of the Viltrumites >>by exploiting a crippling and really obvious weakness in viltrumite physiology that the pentagon discovered in a few months of watching Mark but none of the alien civilizations they invaded before found You do realize that the situation between mark and the rest of the Viltrumites were COMPLETELY fucking different, right? >>instead of sending some dudes to take samples and clone humans back home When the fuck was cloning ever in the table? If they could clone shit why would they bother with humans when they could just print more of themselves? >they send one (1) person to manually fuck a human woman, which is eventually the downfall of their civilization as they know it Their civilization was already in ruins by that point, Mark and his dad just buried what was left
Liam Wilson
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Everything except those last two points. Nolann was one of several scouts going in all directions searching for compatible life. Further, just because the lifeforms were compatible they had to meet Viltrum standards. So Nolann had to find out if humans can birth suitable viltrum children and then if they would develop powers at a level to survive a fight.
For the idea of cloning it probably was either they didn't have the personel to do it, they didn't want to the Coalition to know how desperate they were, and it was probably easier to have the Earth healthcare system care for the offspring than deal with cloning.
Htragg's purple babies were not suitable viltrum by these standards. They were born to fight and die, basically.
Cooper Murphy
Hey now, for the record, I haven't gotten round to reading Invincible. That was the impression I got of it from comments I've seen elsewhere
Ian Moore
You're trying to approach things and make correlations based in realism considering there's no reasonable explanation about their powers at all if you go with that route, even further still if you consider this is a comic with flying people and aliens.
Anyway, the physiological thing Robot explored, could also be knowledge gained by the Coalition if the deserter allowed secret teams to explore his body for said weaknesses, but I guess he had enough with the scourge plague? Besides that I don't see any other civilization having the brains and time to analyze whatever time they spent with a Viltrumite to find the weakness to sound waves as the people on Earth did.
The thing about humans is that they create the closest thing possible to a pure Viltrumite, but this knowledge only came about once Invincible became an adult. Viltrumites live for thousands and thousands of years, after the scourge they got a whole lot weaker, but still simply wouldn't face anyone that could kill them anyway. This means they had no hurry at all to see what results a hybrid would create on Earth considering all those years would be a like a day for them.
Zachary Baker
Shit's just played straight in Invincible, but it's not by any stretch of the imagination "realistic"
Zachary Peterson
I really think the Robot thing is where kirkman checked out mentally from the series. I think at that time he was drunk off TWD and sad drunk because the death of the industry was rushing torwards.
Adrian Wood
Which Robot thing? There's like three of them that I can think off that match the "Kirkman checking out"
Sebastian Baker
No, not in that sense. It was realistic in Kirkman's characterizations and dialogue.
Brayden Baker
The robot thing where he takes over the world mains or kills all of Mark's friends, and Mark decides that's the time to not give a shit and just leave the planet.
Gabriel Morgan
>meanwhile Robot literally just shits out drones capable of blowing viltrumites the fuck out in a few months Robot got fucking destroyed WAY easier than space freddie mercury, he only "won" at earth for that amount of time because he attacked by surprise and was EVERYWHERE, and the viltrumites didn't see a reason to fight him then On a battle in space he got fucked and most of the battles in the viltrumite war were in space
Adam Hughes
Considering the dead-weight heroes of Earth compared to Mark by then he was also basically alone against Robot.
Charles Garcia
He leaves because Robot was right and no one but a small group of people that knew how much of a bastard he was. He did everything behind the scenes and he managed to make things better, Mark just couldn't leave things be so he decided to leave.
Now I'm not defending this because I didn't like how Robot got away with pretty much everything but storytwise it makes some sense, plus I'm pretty sure that Freddy Mercury was making a comeback by that point so the plot kept moving on
Matthew Lee
Kind of the part that pissed me off a little. Robot used years of trust and resources he got only because of being a good guy to betray everyone and take over the Earth after failing the cricket people. Yet everyone just rolled over and spread it for the robot cock because he could appeal to benevolent nature of the heroes through what is a hostage situation too complex for their suddenly tiny brains.
If it wasn't for Freddy deciding to make his last war stage to be Earth's space, Robot would still be the Emperor of the planet until he himself would get bored with the position.
Jeremiah Martin
>Robot would still be the Emperor of the planet until he himself would get bored with the position. Probably, although he seemed bored from the get-go
Parker Howard
Id gladly live in robots utopia, fuck mark and them for trying to stop it
Nolan Adams
>Is everything else by Kirkman like this? Epic in scale but kinda retarded if you think about it for a few seconds?
Julian Allen
always thought that was stupid. just like with avatar aang he should gone around planting his seed in as many women as possible
Grayson Sanders
You don't understand Viltrumites. They are able to reproduce with EVERYTHING.
Jason Smith
Not really stupid because it's based on estabilished rules, stupid would be when Russos made up time travel in the last minute to defeat Thanos through literal Deus Ex Machina, it was straight up lazy cheating.
Brayden Foster
>ACKSHUALLY IT'S A DECONSTRUCTION Kirkman's a mediocre writer who hides behind genre work and his characters solve problems (like painting themselves into a corner) by getting angry and violent.
Ryder Kelly
Kind of want a sequel with Terra as the protagonist.
