>think of a character
>pitch an ongoing with a beginning, middle and end
Basically if you had free reign over any DC/Marvel Character, and their respective supporting cast and antagonist, what would you write? Go nuts on the worldbuilding and such, treat it like an AU.
Pick a Character, Write an Epic
I wonder, were there nerds who were pissed off at Moore when he first started with Miracleman?
Maybe John Byrne.
I want to write a Ghost Rider run for 70 issues. I'd start off small, with him stumbling into a town where a group of dangerous, violent convicts escaped during transport. As he hunts them we discover one of them comes from a family that carries as an heirloom a cursed revolver that allows the person wielding it to send the souls of those he kills to Hell in return for favors from the devil who made the gun.
Ghost Rider discovers that this family's house is on a ley-line, and once he deals with the initial conflict he starts following the line, which leads him on a haunted highway where he spends a bunch of issues riding with the ghosts of dead bikers who have formed their own gang, The Wild Hunt, and with them Ghost Rider travels across America, getting into hi-jinks.
Then there'd be a war going on in Hell over who gets to be the big boss and Ghost Rider and his new friends end up in the middle of it. In the end Ghost Rider would kick everyone's ass and enforce a stalemate in Hell, restoring the status quo and riding into the sunset with his posse.
Would read this. Were you that user that said they had some head cannon ideas they wanted to write? Is was back in some Copra thread, basically because of Michel Fiffe. But yeah I'm always interested in reading about characters and series people are passionate about.
No, probably not. But I do have other ideas from the past, like my big DC team-book that's kind of a tribute to Ostrander's Suicide Squad and Simone's Secret Six.
There's also my space epic about how Mikaal Tomas becomes the great ruler he's destined to be.
Going to bed now, but bumping for later.
Cool I'm a fan of Simone's Secret Six but I think the space epic would be the best project for right now since every event book seems to be a space threat. DC is rather weak in that department it's all Green Lantern for them. Not a fan of Cates' Marvel work so I would welcome a new cosmic space epic right about now. Keep reading and writing, user. Best of luck!
>since every event book seems to be a space threat.
This isn't an event, it's a character-focused journey through space. All of my ideas are long runs.
>Not a fan of Cates' Marvel work so I would welcome a new cosmic space epic right about now
This makes me want to come up with a Cosmic Marvel idea too but ever since reading the DnA stuff I haven't been able to come up with anything worth doing.
I've been playing around with a Heroes for Hire idea though. Nobody ever uses Dakota North.
>There's also my space epic about how Mikaal Tomas becomes the great ruler he's destined to be.
QRD?
Mikaal has been hanging out on Earth doing pretty much nothing when the Martin Stein Firestorm shows up after making a long journey through space and tries to convince mankind they need to begin expanding into space as is their destiny. Mikaal and his new girlfriend Roxy Rocket decide to take Firestorm up on this offer and pursue their destiny in space. Their journey begins on Mars where they and J'onn fight the Spider Guild (because David Bowie) and from there they go deeper and deeper into space, run into various cosmic DC characters (as seen in my image) with the final enemies Mikaal has to fight being Mongul, Starro and the Thanagarian Empire respectively. During the journey he would be forced to become a leader of men and assume the responsibilities that follow with that.
Also Maxima tries to bang either him or Firestorm, I don't know which.
wolverine 10,000bc
i'd retcon wolverine's origin to make him a caveman and have him found a tribe and kill mammoths and sabertooth tigers. then have to unify several tribes to go to war agents sabertooth's raiders. end it with the dawn of agriculture and settlements and after outliving several wives wonders away in to the woods because he's still animalistic and wild at heart.
it's really just an excuse to make wolverine fight wooly mammoth, i admit it. it would probily be best as just be a miniseries instead of an ongoing run.
And ye shall call this series Pre-History X
I like it. It's like a reverse Old Man Logan. I think it was Earth X that said Wolverine and Moon Boy came from the same photo-human wild men tribe.
i dig it.
No
As an AU?
The story would primarily take place in Markovia, with the King and Queen planning to announce a major bit of news the to their people. Just before they plan to make their announcement, they're attacked by an unknown assailant, leading to their apparent deaths.
Shortly thereafter, a Markovian commoner by the name of Tara is attacked by a group of mysterious assailants, and is forced to flee her home and look for as to why she was attacked.
The story would begin with a powerless version of Tara traveling around Markovia and trying to conceal her identity out of fear of another assassination attempt by her mysterious attackers. As she travels across the country, she witnesses and is eventually dragged into the nation's infighting and political instability caused by the death of the King and Queen. About a third of the way through the series, she becomes more confident and brazen, eventually learning who hired her attackers. After a particularly difficult fight, she begins to learn she has some, limited control over the earth and spends the rest of the series both trying to understand why she has this power to begin with.
As the series progresses, Tara would see more and more of Markovian life, as well as the neighboring country of Kaznia, and eventually be joined by an exiled prince and a Bialyan mercenary.
Tara eventually learns that she's the estranged daughter of Baron Bedlam, who had named himself Regent of Markovia following the death of the royal family, that the King and Queen of Makovia were responsible for some atrocities in the name of elevating their country, and is forced to make some very difficult choices that will affect the future of her country, Kaznia, and faraway lands of Bialya. Most endings of her story either ends with her committing a betrayal of some kind, or being betrayed in kind.
Do you know the origin for these 80s-esque images with the hero's name in big letters above or below? They all have a similar aesthetic but no clue where they're from - promo material? Handbooks?
Sorry for the late reply. I like it user, but I don’t know most of these character past the very, very basics, so I’m a bit lost.
I like it, but it seems a bit “down to Earth”, same as with most GR runs. Why not up the ante?
This is Carl Manvers?
Bumping to write.
Basically it'd be a Doctor Doom story spanning millenia and generations. Each "Age" would follow a different member of Doom's Dynasty.
>1st
The First Age would be the one we know. It'd be a more "down to Earth" reality, and so the stories would be mostly espionage/politics, akin to MGS. In the end he manages to conquer Europe using Palpatine-esque shenanigans. Setting up terror cells, instigating wars, etc.
>2nd
Then Second Age would be some generations later where most of the world is a CyberPunk Dystopia/Utopia depending on the place. A Doom is rulling as Emperor and tries to purge and conquer the "unclean" rest of the world, while protecting his Empire. Here we get into Deus Ex stuff, but not full blown automatons. By the end he's pulled it off and pretty much only his kingdom remains, the rest of the world being a scorched Earth, and he sets off to rebuild.
>3rd
The Third Age would be "Hard"Sci-Fi, following two Dooms; two brothers. One's rulling and the other's trying to stage a coup through using the support of the colonies and the rise of sentient machines ala Blade Runner, System Shock, etc. By the end the reigning Doom wins and the AIs fuck off to create their own civilization.
>4th
The Fourth Age would be set in a Mass Effect/Star Trek like scenario, where the Earth is part of a Galactic Council/Federation and would deal with alien contact and so on. It'd probably end with that Doom dying against some aliens, and his son developing anti-xeno policies.
>5th
The Fifth Age would expand the scope dealing with different galaxies, and would be mostly keikakus as the toasters return, merged with other alien AIs and everyone goes into AN ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS mode. It'd end with AIs being gone for good know, as Doom the XXXst starts genociding Xenos.
>6th
The Sixth Age would be just a few years later, and would deal with alternate dimensions, magic, etc. Hints would be dropped across all other Ages.
>7th
The Seventh Age would be just straight up WH40K.
I wonder whatever happened to Miracle Man coming to Marvel comics? Was it just a rumor or did someone change their mind?
have sex
user, while I enjoy your idea (a bit underdeveloped for now, but maybe that's just cause you had to sum it up for us), 7 sagas is just...WAAAAY too long. 5 would've been too long already. You can do just one, 2-4 being the second, and 5-7 being the third. I dunno, I guess when I'm doing this, I like to be a bit more "down to earth" with my ideas.
new gods super young team
the team fight against the darksyde club in japan like a anime
i'm gonna write something here in a minute so for now bump
I'm autistic. It has to be either 3 Eras or 7 Eras. And I can't trim it all to just 3. I could, but I'd have to drop something. I was going to take the Todd route and make every Age/Era 100 issues.
Martian Manhunter Does America: The beginning would be a bit standard, with Martian Manhunter not feeling as connected to the people he protects as he wants to, with a cultural block stopping him understanding America. Someone on the Justice League suggests that he travels around the country to get a feel for the american culture, and J'onn agrees.
He would then spend a Ben 10 style trip across the country, stopping various threats that crop up from harming the places he's observing.
He'd continue along this path until he gets to Nevada where there is a strange number of cryptids running around causing problems. J'onn would stay here for a while cleaning them up he gets a call from the JLA telling him they'd like him to come back. He tries to fly out of Nevada but hits an invisible dome and realizes he's trapped.
He would discover that there are machines all across Nevada that are causing mutations in the organism in the state, that's what created the cryptids. He would slowly discover a conspiracy that leads him to a secret base that seeks to profit from the fear these mutated nevadians create, this organization would be ran by Mr. V, and the end of the ongoing would be J'onn finding a way to defeat him, unmutate the organisms while also keeping them from escaping Nevada once the dome is dropped.
Nigga you won't even be alive to write 700 issues lol.
But seriously, I enjoyed your idea, want to talk more about it?
