Steven Universe would have benefited from taking a more communist/anarchist ideology in it’s later seasons.
Steven Universe would have benefited from taking a more communist/anarchist ideology in it’s later seasons
And it didn't?
All the gems of the universe are free to do what they want as Steven just give them an advice.
>communist/anarchist
Those things are antonyms, not synonyms.
He forced his ideology on them.
Also the Diamonds weren’t shattered.
Steven Universe would have benefited from having an entire episode dedicated to Rose Quartz's fat ass.
Only one episode?
Well yeah, shattering them fucks over the shattered and corrupted
Even in PD her ass is fat
They could have found a cure another way, like using the grounded up remains in the pool water.
There was no reason to keep fascists alive.
Hahaha
Nah though, he didn’t force it. He opened their hearts
Steven Universe would have benefited from taking place on a nudist beach and everyone ran around naked.
Of course, the other episode would be dedicated to her fat mommy milkers, naturally.
Easiest way to defuse the conflict and help Gems. Objectively, urns more important than fulfilling any sense of vengeance or justice
Stephen Universe simply isn’t a Maoist and neither are the creators. Enjoy your recreational ideology, I’m sure applying it to cartoons is the ‘praxis’ we need
>He forced his ideology on them.
He didn't, he just gave an advice to Freckles and Farquaad to not kill random planets, and they barely listened and only agreed when Lapis became bloodlusted Lapis.
Bluebird also is free to do what she wants and is gonna kill Steven in his sleep.
>Also the Diamonds weren’t shattered.
They loose their powers and become public sluts for the gems, that's better than simply kill them.
I wouldn't kill someone like Hitler or Stalin, I would humiliate them in public and invite everyone to mock them.
YD seems the only that has the right liquid to fix the shattereds.
Steven Universe would have benefited from making more interesting humans if we were forced to have as many episodes with them thanks to CN managment.
Steven Universe would have benefited from making the Diamonds face some sort of punishment for their actions.
Steven Universe would have benefited if Land of the Lustrous had come out in the 2000s so that Rebecca could have stolen plot elements from it and made a better show
Imagine being such a misanthropic murderer that you refuse to integrate consenting allies after revolution
Unironically Greg and Rose's story was far more interesting than the majority of Steven's story.
Some people just like to stroke their egos rather find a solution that goes against their sense of justice
>Steven Universe would have benefited from making the Diamonds face some sort of punishment for their actions.
They lost all their political power.
>Steven Universe would have benefited if Land of the Lustrous had come out in the 2000s so that Rebecca could have stolen plot elements from it and made a better show
Facebook meme, the SU pilot and vision came out before LOTL
Why do people care about punishing the diamonds so much
>inb4 essays that it’s ‘human nature’ and that the free love therapy show did something wrong for not ending with humiliation
Why would you not punish the equivalent of Hitler, Mao, and Stalin in a kid’s show?
Even Star had more balls than Steven and killed Toffee.
People want blood and want shit to work fairly. I kinda liked SU for that, refusing to kill the dictator isn’t new, but working with them to start a new era and focus on restorative justice is a nice little move
>Steven Universe would have benefited from making more interesting humans if we were forced to have as many episodes with them thanks to CN managment.
I don’t even think that was forced on them, I deadass think the crew enjoyed writing them more than the sci fi stuff.
Because the main villains getting off with a slap on the wrist and then a tidal wave of retcons coming later to say "No, they totally weren't that evil you guys" is fanfiction tier writing. I can't believe people got paid for that.
>They lost all their political power.
And yet people still rely on them for body modifications and getting high, effectively giving them a certain power over the gems.
>Why would you not punish the equivalent of Hitler, Mao, and Stalin in a kid’s show?
Because they actually didn't kill anybody that couldn't be ressurected?
>Because the main villains getting off with a slap on the wrist
They worked for ressurecting the killed ones.
>Facebook meme, the SU pilot and vision came out before LOTL
Reread what he wrote
If I was trying to make a different type of show, one specifically about reconciliation and the changing of hearts to create a better world, then no I wouldn’t. The idea that it is impossible to achieve total social victory without destroying or humiliating some part of people is unbearable, Steven Universe offers a world where ALL people can be integrated into a better more simple life, and frankly that idea is too progressive for combatitive people to understand even over seasons and seasons of focused watching
It is a nice move, it’s what makes SU an honest and ideologically cogent show
If you think a plastic surgeon is on the same level as a king, that is your issue
>They worked for ressurecting the killed ones.
Nobody was killed; this was retconned to something that could have always been easily done.
Which ties into what user was saying.
>They lost all Political power
You don't lose Political Power if you're still worshipped. If they wanted it, they'd get it back but they're content right now playing House to make Steven Happy
>Meme about which came first
I'm not talking about which came first. I'm not even implying that Rebecca stole from that manga. I'm implying that if LotL came out in the 2000s Rebecca COULD have stolen elements and made a much better show. For real, even from an aesthetic standpoint the idea of Gems breaking apart in fights like they do in LotL until they hit their POOF limit would have raised the quality of the show
