Not even out for a week
>16 years later
>Still remembered to this day
Brand expansions will never be as memorable as stand alone films
Its already out? You are right i forgot about it...
Not a lot of theaters are open and the digital release is on Christmas.
Can i just say something ? Fuck the academy for nominating Panda 2 and Puss in Boots back in 2011. Both were direct to dvd mediocrity, and films like Tintin, Winnie the Pooh and Arthur Christmas were far more worthy of a nomination.
Eep and Dawn seem like really good friends. I'm so glad the producers didn't make Eep jealous of Dawn and didn't make Dawn try to steal Guy away.
>HDCAM
Reminder that Shrek 1 and Shark Tale will never, ever, be replicated. We're not getting another Zig Forums comedy like them anytime soon, and it breaks my heart
I have to save my money for Boss Baby 2
Reminder that DreamWorks has never won an Oscar since the first Shrek.
>Puss in Boots was nominated but Arthur Christmas wasn't
There is no justice in the world...
Agreed
Pooh was basically a glorified Direct to DVD project though. Only an hour long and basically rehashing the first of the DTV Pooh movies in having Owl send everybody on a wild goose chase for a monster that supposedly kidnapped Christopher Robin because he can't actually fucking read.
Fantastic comedy and some solid energetic animation, easily the funniest of the Iger era movies, but not very ambitious enough for awards.
goddamn is she horny
5 mins in and the never ending dialog of 'modern things but caveman equivalence' is very annoying.
also the highest quality of movie so far is
Our theaters are open but Covid cases are kind of spiking in the cities where the theaters are, so I'm not at liberty to watch.
Did they have any cameos from animals exclusive to the cartoon?
Shrek, Shark Tale, KFP, HTTYD, Croods and Boss Baby are their only non sequel films to get nominated ( only Shrek won )
>oscar
lol who cares
It really makes me happy that it scored a nomination despite the critical backlash. It deserved it. Character animation and lighting effects were very impressive for the time

user, there were a LOT movies that were better than those that didn't make it.
>Alois Nebel
>The Rabbi's Cat
>The Painting
>Tales of the Night
>The Tragedy of Man
>Crulic: The Path to Beyond
>The King of Pigs
>Leafie, A Hen into the WIld
>Wrinkles
Did they make them lesbians.
shark tale is the best movie of all time
OF ALL TIME
No, Eep and Guy just make up and go back to each other.
Puss in boots was fun , At least Panda took a risk compared to most sequels
>didnt make the main girl a dyke
that's the problem, if they would've made her a dyke, lesbians would be frothing at the vagina over this movie
It's one of my favorite animation films ever
October 2004 was all about Shark Tale. It was the most popular and profitable film of that month, and it was also heavily advertised.

>it is no longer possible to have a thread for any DreamWorks movie without some user spamming a string of Shark Tale-related posts
Are we sure this isn't a bannable offense?
l-lewd
none of you have any idea how much money i would pay to torture, rape, and murder shark tale user
Wasn't there a cute punk girl in this movie?
What makes ST such an interesting case study is how, despite being poorly received and not spawning any sequels or expansions, it still went down in history as a major success. It was a big hit at the box office ( 9th highest grossing film of the year ), got an academy nomination and it's still remembered by the general public to this day. Combine this with the fact that it was also made by traditional animators making their debut with CG technology, and the result is a movie that is, quite frankly, fascinating.
