Why does this one SNL skit have better animation than any modern cartoon?
Mickey isn't funny, he's entertaining.
Donald Duck is the face of Disney in most of Europe because nobody can stand Mickey Mouse.
is that not how comedy works?
>its another Walt was an anti-Semite joke
>SNL calling someone else not funny
He’s nearly a placeholder. It’s not design or content that brought anyone to Mickey, it’s industry, productivity, and availability. So long as he didn’t crash directly into the wall, Walt could have and did succeed winning America’s love with animations of truly random bullshit, the appeal is that the content’s available and someone put work into making it
Even uncle Walt prefer Donald
Higher budget for a few minutes of animation vs an entire film/series.
No zoom zoom
>hurr durr Walt hated Jews
If you repeat a lie thousands of times it eventually becomes true
Don't care, still like Mickey
Somehow, I don't think budget is the issue in this case.
For most of his lifetime, Mickey was the mascot and figurehead, but Donald was the company's MVP.
Mickey was mostly benched during WWII (when that cartoon was drawn), but Donald was all over the place; propaganda, army cartoons, encouraging people to pay their taxes, even the Three Caballeros was part of the war effort.
Where the fuck did this rumor even come from?
As far as I know he was way friendlier towards Jews than most Americans where at the time.
Mickey has only been fun for seven years. He started out as a playful scamp but was best known for being the straight man.
Disney attended a lot of american nazi party meetings, and Hitler was a big fan of his.
Whatever happened to the American Nazi party?
>Disney attended a lot of american nazi party meetings
Any source on that?
Also Hitler liked dogs. Doesn't mean dogs are a nazi thing.
>nobody can stand Mickey Mouse
Speak for yourself
The fact is a lot of people don’t realize how excellent and respectable all of these industrialists and generalized ‘great men’ of this era were to the world and eachother, and that before invading the rest of Europe it was a pretty astounding and productive feat to the world that Hitler uh ‘pulled Germany up by its bootstraps’ so to speak
Probably fell out of favor when Germany declared war.
WWII
Mickey isn't supposed to be funny
walt was a good boy who did nothing wrong.
>change mickey from a hot blooded detective who pistol whipped people to an impotent nothing
there's your problem
The only thing he had a really strong stance against was communism, which he linked to unionization.
A lot of unions and socialist groups in LA were run by Jewish people. Disney HATED them, though not because they were Jewish. His opponents painted him as an Anti-Semite to try and discredit him
I feel like Mickey is more of a mascot than anything. Like Hello Kitty. That or he bounces off of Goofy and Donald and plays a more straightman role.
