Sburb is some of the more interesting stuff in HS, and yeah the Trolls really pulled the focus away from that. They all had magic shit and shit like telepathy from their home planets already, we mostly see them at their endgame and not-to-mention the horrid shipping shit involved. Making bad fanfic relationship tropes into solidified in-universe terms was the best and worst joke Hussie ever wrote.

>Step 1: create a bunch of minor characters and background characters
>Step 2: show them off with quirky personality bullet points to get people intrigued for the characters roles and excited for the upcoming game
>Step 3: present miniature stories where the audience can get to know the characters one on one so that they become very invested in the characters and cant wait to see how they play into the main story
>Step 4: declare all of that non canon and present the original intent, while also cutting characters entirely
>BONUS STEP: Dont credit anybody involved so they dont find your name and direct backlash at you, even though people already know the names of your creative team and people no longer involved in the project need those credits to attract future jobs
>BONUS BONUS STEP: Walk back the bonus step as if that makes up for the fact you did it in the first place
