Zig Forums has done a lot of AU stuff with Aurora over the years. Maybe more than any other Disney princess.
Remember that long, complicated AU we made up where she was a vampire?
Ryder Gutierrez
Dark Disney, and that shit was great. Too bad most of it is lost now.
It's been 9 years.
Dominic Davis
I'm still weirdly impressed that Maleficent gave Aurora an actual personality, and thus a character we the audience can give a shit about.
Jaxon Richardson
Don't remind me of how long it's been, user.
Anyway, if a lot of it's been lost it's not the worst thing in the world, since as I recall we kind of went off on multiple tangents that got away from the core idea. The most important part of it, the heart of it, is pretty easy to remember:
>Maleficent curses infant Aurora to prick her finger on the spinning needle and die
>Merryweather uses her last gift to protect Aurora, declaring that she'll not die, but sleep
>but Merryweather fucks her spell up
>so years later, Aurora does die when she pricks her finger
>she just comes back to life as one of the undead
>she's a full-on vampire, complete with a hunger for blood
>awakens to a blackened world where Maleficent has completely taken over
>Aurora has to fight to save the world, along with battling her own wicked impulses
>eventually partners up with a grizzled, fortysomething Mulan as a traveling buddy
Adrian Ross
Is good. Weeb Paz, too.
Parker Butler
>>eventually partners up with a grizzled, fortysomething Mulan as a traveling buddy
>turning Mulan into some generic warrior type
It is for the best that this fanfic has been lost to the ages. Good riddance.
Logan Clark
There was also the AU where Aurora was taught magic by the fairies when she was a kid, and she and Philip joined forces to try and save the kingdom with him as a Fighter and her as a Mage.
I actually have a lot of the writefagging for that one saved, it's pretty fun to look back on it.
Tyler Bailey
Someone on the Infinity Train thread made this work of beauty.
Chase Sullivan
See, the thing about fanfic is that the more involved and intricate ones are just better off being made into original stories.

Sauce?
Hunter Green
Grizzled monster hunter Mulan (who was originally tasked by Maleficent with killing Aurora once she realized what happened) and a Belle who was slowly morphing into a Beast due to the Prince passing his curse onto her. Prince Phillip had been enslaved by Maleficent as her Headless Horseman, Snow White was a vampire as well and one of Maleficent's vassals, and the Fairies were trapped as candles and could only take action when they were lit. Also Aurora herself was a Count of Monte Cristo figure destroying and destabilizing Maleficent's underlings and kingdoms. And while it did go off on a lot of tangents, I think we stayed pretty on-point with concept as a dark, somewhat Gothic low-fantasy universe. I really liked how we put Maleficent into a tenuous status quo against Hades and Jafar as rival god-kings.
Bentley Lewis
>Infinity Train
>producing anything that could be considered beautiful
That's just objectively wrong.
Eli Taylor
Mulan actually got more background and development than Aurora.
Asher Wood
Oh fuck, that's more than I remember. Great that you kept track of it all.
It was just really neat. Fun stuff.
Also I think Scar had been transformed into a were-lion, and could take on a human form.
