Seems like this was Ellis trying to tell his own story that happens to have Castlevania characters.

Dunno, if they wanted to move on to a different era I think they would've given any sings by now. Plus Netflix originals don't get that much seasons.
And they already had Dracula and Alucard's emotional encounter so there's not really much point in doing SotN, though this show seems to love going through the same plot points again and again desu

I kind of want to transcribe what happens in Netflixvania series on AO3 and see what happens.

Consider he just liked the character's NAME, not even remotely the backstory because chances are he didn't even bother with it, the fat fuck. Mathias Cronqvis could have been fucking Godbrand, so good thing it was stopped.
They have new writers now... So who knows. Once Upon a Time has 7 fucking seasons that just go on and on and on.

Trevor just became like a fucking nonentity after Season 1. I mean yeah he participates in fight scenes etc., but he mostly just stands around apathetically like 95% of the rest of the time and sometimes bitches about how he's just so over all this shit.

I guess they figured that since he got a legit character arc in the first season and was obviously the MC there, they should give everyone else a chance or whatever, but I'm pretty sure that's like the only actual arc this show has had except maybe Dracula's adventures in suicide.

This would have only worked in the following arcs would have been meaningful for an end. But from the look of it, they just plan to stretch the show as much as they can. And still no fucking Grant.

Didn't Once upon a Time start on TV? At least in my country I remember seeing it on TV. Though checking other Netflix stuff like OITNB and House of Cards it seems like 6-7 season is not impossible.
Though after wasting 4 seasons on Trevor, with 2 being completely Ellis original stuff, seems like a little too late to jump to another Belmont
