He’s aight. Too bad nobody else on Zig Forums the will have able to discuss him with any authority

The first volume of Optic Nerve was great and some the last few issues that were collected in Killing and Dying were pretty great as well. His last book is supposedly funny.

He's great. "The Loneliness of a Long-Distance Cartoonist" genuinely made me laugh out loud and cry probably twice. Really cool style in that one, approximating a journal, in which you can tell he's taking a really simple approach and letting very simple lines do the heavy lifting.

I liked the first story in Killing and Dying.

I thought he was hit or miss back during Optic Nerve and then upped his game to becoming really solid.

>"Damn bitch, you live like this?"

Reminds me of a more sanitized (and less engaging) R. Crumb.

I can see that, if those were the only two independent cartoonists you've ever seen. Check out Clowes next.

Do women really live like this?

>New Yorker cover
Quite a symbol of mainstream artistry.

Is the graph paper background an affectation?

Men live worse. MUCH worse. Believe me, I was in that thread.

what is the likelihood this is the actual first time this happened to him in order to get checked for lactose intollerance?

Food waste on the floor is absolutely unacceptable.

It can come on really suddenly. A lot of lactose tolerant people are actually intolerant (about 15%). These people have microfauna in their intestines that deal with the lactose. A number of things can kill these critters, including a strong cycle of antibiotics.
Furthermore, a lot of people don’t actually become lactose intolerant until early adulthood.
So, yeah, it could happen this way.

What do you think those prescriptions are for?

Worse than that is the potential stink rising up from the aging Chinese takeout food on the table.

Or the permeating stench from the litter box located mere feet from the desk. What a disaster.

Do women really live like this? Or is it just a New York thing in general?

like said it can happen completely out of the blue, like, from one day to the next. It can actually be pretty easy to write off the first couple instances as something else like food poisoning.

From my own and seeing how my friends have aged it goes as such:
>College
Whatever the dorm provides you along with IKEA or Wal-Mart cheap furniture.
>Young adult (early to mid-20s)
Cheaper furniture from various places with no combination over how the living or other rooms should appear.
>Late adult (late 20s to mid-30s)
Picking out furniture sets and have an idea over basic to thorough decorating.
>Older Adult (late 30s and up)
You have your shit together.
