What's some nice edgy animated stuff I can watch? Preferably shit that takes itself seriously.

Birdboy was among my other favorite Zig Forums movies from last decade. Most people never got their chance to read the original comic.
To this day the comic has not been released in English. You only find scans in its native Spanish.
If you have seen the movie, you have more or less all the context you need to follow the panels.
If anyone has or is interested to translate this in English, let Zig Forums know.

If you liked this shit, check out the author. He not only does comics, but illustration work.
Any word on when Unicorn Wars is supposed to come out? I loved Bird Boy and was really stoked to see more animated works from the same guy. youtube.com
Firt off,
No one on Zig Forums knows the difference between edgy and horrific or serious.
It's all bullshit and ponies with these retarded snowflakes.
Onyx Equinox is good, but only the first two eps are out
Who hurt you user?
strawberry jam??
Princess (2006 Danish animated film)
>Edgy shit that takes itself way too seriously
Unironically, R&M
The first half is very very good, I really like how it uses live action footage to portray the past, the other one is straight up edgy.
Broken Link, retard.
All the mega links work.
Madoka is pretty good if you don't mind the Zig Forums angle.
If he wanted anime and manga, he would not have asked in the western comics & cartoons image board.
HBO’s Spawn, just like the comics it’s based on
That looks amazing!
My dog hurt my finger once. Who hurt you?
Westerners don't tend to make unironically edgy cartoons.
Plague Dogs
Felidae
Watership Down
god i wish this show had kept going
It was too good for HBO.
Are you sure?
Drawn Together!
>Preferably shit that takes itself seriously.
Yeah like I said, drawn together
Drawn together wasn't taking itself seriously at all. It's all played for jokes. That's not necessarily a bad thing but not what he was looking for.
>not taking itself seriously
Yeah whatever dude, lmao, Drawn Together took itself seriously and was edgy as all hell. You're just upset.
The short and film seem to be empty folders.
>Drawn Together took itself seriously
Not really. It was a comedy show. Pretty good one at that.
>edgy as all hell
Yes. But comedy can be edgy. Are you conflating seriousness and edginess perhaps?
Here's some shit that'll last you a few days.
Where the Dead Go to Die & When Black Birds Fly: Hardcore edgecore, at points really schlocky and tryhard, but it does take itself seriously and stands out as a particularly horrific and inventive brand of horror animation

Primal has some decent gore, but its not edgy I would say.
It was such a good comedy it inspired Panty and Stocking with garterbelt! How come you don't think it takes itself seriously? Have you SEEN the episode where they murder veggietales?
>It was such a good comedy it inspired Panty and Stocking with garterbelt!
Did it really? Damn. Maybe I should go back and rewatch it.
>How come you don't think it takes itself seriously? Have you SEEN the episode where they murder veggietales?
Well, because usually the violence and edginess, while oftentimes dark is generally used as a vehicle for comedy; literally - a joke. Including said veggietales murder. A lot of the hard violence in this series, while graphic, is mostly comedic in nature.
And the show wasn't really shy about admitting the crassness of its jokes. Not that it needed to be. DT was boorish and knew it, and wasn't ashamed of it. Nor should it be. That was its appeal. Sadly that kind of programming seems to have largely gone the way of the dodo. Shame, but it was a product of its time. Simpler times I suppose.
