Possibly the best webcomic in the internet, too bad it takes 50 years to update
Is the writing good?
yes
It's some of the best writing there is in a comic, web or otherwise, frankly.
Unfortunately, like said, it takes forever to update. Whether due to the artwork being the best around and thus taking forever, or other obligations taking Tracy Butler's time (currently it's the animated short), a page can take months to even a year or longer to materialize. So even with the phenomenal writing, the glacial pace makes it difficult to appreciate without re-reading entire swathes of pages at a time.
That aside, it's also some of the most well researched shit you'll ever find in a comic. Butler goes to agonizing lengths to make the comic period-appropriate, or just to get particular architecture, slang, or a now-discontinued brand of chocolate right, among other things.
This comic started when I was in middle school. I'm a thirty year old man, one month from 31. The plot has not advanced since it first started.
At this point I only stick around because I like porn of the some of the characters. Also, there are artists out there that won't accept porn commissions of Lackadasy because "they respect Tracy too much" - whatever the fuck that means. I've tried, fellow perverts. I've tried.
Fantastic comic that I hope gets further print versions, when there's finally enough material. It's one of the both best written and best drawn comics ever made, but it's update schedule can be called geological.
Am I the only one that loathes the animated short thing they've been working on because it's delaying the already slow pace of the comic?
It is, but it's so slow I'm pretty certain there are fans that have literally grown old and died in the time it takes for it to make a dozen or so pages. It is positively glacial in terms of update speed.
I remember when Tracy was a furry. She'll deny it all today, but she regularly posted on the old furry boards before Lackadaisy was a thing.
I'm hoping that after the short it's going to sorta rubberband the whole comic forward and speed it up.
I think that people can grow out of things, especially with furry stuff.
>The plot has not advanced since it first started.
It did, several things changed ever since the beggining
I always confused this comic with Pleasure Bon Bon a good while ago.
Yes, and the fact they hired a bunch of hacks to be voice actors including that fat bearded transexual bigenger fag made me 100% sure it's going to be garbage.
The korean guy is literally the only good and professional voice actor in this shit.
>The plot has not advanced since it first started.
This. People always talk about how Lackadaisy has such a great plot, but it hasn't gone anywhere since its conception. I'm not sure if decades worth of non-progress can be considered great writing, even if the art is without argument the best in any webcomic.
why does it take so long to create? Is it just a side job for Tracey?
Not him, but the main story and objective haven't really changed. They're still just trying to get a tiny bit of booze. Rocky and Freckle haven't even met up with Ivy with their first truck yet. Don't get me wrong, the subplots have been developing and I've been enjoying it, but the actual story is stagnate and I'm dreading the moment when we wait half a year for a new issue only to get an update on Zib fucking around in a jail cell then having to wait another half year.
>fat bearded transexual bigenger fag
She's just a fat bearded lady.
I'm pretty sure it was for Tracy for a long time because she did higher paying professional shit as her main job, but her Patreon got big enough for her to focus on the comic primarily, but then she got into the whole animated short thing and it's back to being an ice age for updates.
Biologically male or female?
I unironically think it'll be a masterpiece once it's finished in 2037 by Cyber-Tracy.
2037 seems generous.
Oh sure, but to pretend it never happened is a special kind of silly.
Female.
>Zib fucking around
I'm almost certain the hacks she hired were to get the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss people, at least for the guy that voices Rocky/Angel Dust since there are so many more suiting actor than him.
youtu.be
Also, the girl you're talking about is just a regular bearded lady.
Slightly cleaner version.
I wish I'd saved that book she never finished.
My files are so old. Thank you
Rocky is the best.

That's kind of sad because everyone is a cartoon cat and that makes me not want to touch it at all.
