Why are these always so bad? It's always so completely directionless, minus the first one in each series. Is Flashpoint going to suck, guys?

They were better when they were called Elseworlds.

Because they're literally "what if everything just sucked".

Elseworlds books were best when one or two things were changed not everything being changed to reach.l a shitty conclusion.

Because what's the point when you know "it all gets fucked" at the end before you read the story? A lot of these feel more like it's written to get to the horrible ending, rather than having it happen naturally. It's basically like if Marvel's What If gave it away it was going to do yet another bad ending right from the start. It gets tedious after a while.

At least with What If or even the old Pre-COIE Imaginary Stories, they varied it so you don't know if you get a good ending or a bad one.

Knightfall and the Hush one were actually not too bad though. There was a story there. The others just seems to be lazy and shit just goes bad and everyone dies.

The Hush one was good and also gave us Talon Dick

The Knightfall one implied that things were even worse outside of Gotham. The Hush one could actually work as a regular Elseworlds.

Well the lack of mention of any Superman or Justice League and the fact Bruce was left to be tortured for like 30 years seems to indicate that is the case, yes.

I liked this one

Could you... tell me why? Nothing really happened.

Wonder Woman had a good fight against the extended Justice League, Barda and Captain Atom saved the day

Art was good

Because they're mostly rushed BAD END what if stories that can't really tell a decent story in 20 pages. The Darkest Night one was semi-decent. As was Knightfall one apart from the very end.

I'll give you the art I suppose. Not something I usually consider. If anyone with sufficient power could just rip out Superman's heart though, why don't they?

I mean Hecate is the goddess of witchcraft, so she's inherently magical. But by eating the worship of several JLers she made herself more physically powerful as well

double whammy of two of his weaknesses

It’s literally grimdark fanfiction that’s apparently selling well to normies. Why the fuck did you expect it to do anything BUT suck?

WHY CAN'T WE JUST HAVE NICE THINGS??

Elseworlds can have good endings. These by design always end up in an awful way. Except the Loboverse. The Loboverse rocks.

Because you don't want nice things. You want edgy stories about bad guys being good and/or winning while the good guys are shitty losers or they turn evil.

I thought it was good what was your problem with it?

Huh? If I wanted edgy stories like that wouldn't I be in support of these Dark Multiverse Elseworlds bastardizations? THe idea of the Year of the Villain was novel at first but it's been what... three years now? Of the Batman Who Laughs and the Legion of DOOOOOOOM winning and such?

I just thought it didn't really go anywhere. Status quo came back right at the end except for the change of women being up for grabs and the heroes being attacked by the American government.

>status quo came back except for all these changes

You don't consider the visuals in a visual medium? Are you fucking retarded?

The Hush one was good

We all know these are just setting up The Justice League of the Dark Multiverse, right

Like all of this is to make an entire team out of HEY, YOU MEMBER

>Two batmen in a league.
O god, its gonna be insufferable

Yes, but so what? I'm just tired of apocalyptic scenarios for the same reason brings up. How many Year of the Villains do we need intertwined with Multiple Bad End/Bad Future Earths intertwined with Death Metal and Jokers?

I just want Eradicator Lois to stalk regular Superman and stare longingly at his loving family from the bushes.

>stares at Dark Nights Death Metal sales figures
>loses faith in humanity
I want nice things, user. But all DC’s majority consumer base that actually pays the bills and shit seems to want is ruin and Batman.

Nobody forces you to read edgeshit, user.

Just here for plot, baby.

Woah woah woah hang on, I wasn't aware Death Metal was actually selling? All I see here is negative opinions on it. Wait... does no one here actually buy comics?

Im more concerned that the one plot they found to use for WW's Dark Multiverse is war of the gods. It really says uch o mhow WW doesnt have as many definitive arcs/events like her contemporaries.

>Wait... does no one here actually buy comics?

Is this a trick question?

desuarchive.org/co/thread/119366635/

It sells depressingly.
Fucking.
Well.

And frankly the fact that it’s incentivising DC to make more shite like it for $$$ is an unprecedented disincentive for me not to buy comics.
