Guess I'm wrong about that. I was a child and it was 30 years ago. Stampede was still a lot more imposing than Horde Prime. Doesn't change the fact that nobody liked Hordak. No one was bringing Hordak figures to show and tell. I never went over to any of my friends' houses who also had He-Man figures and any of us cared about Hordak. Hordak unironically had my favorite romance subplot on the show. Being introduced as some stereotypical shadowy overlord only to turn out to be a deteriorating shut-in that only got anywhere because he was a tech nerd in a fantasy world. The guy had zero frame of reference for morality because his only human connection to anyone or anything was his evil overlord brother that built him for war and threw him away when he had a defect.
But even with all that, the guy treated his lab partner with more respect than Catra treated Adora with.
