October 2020 Comic Book Sales Report

The mechanics of this series of threads during the pandemic are:
>publisher market shares from Diamond in the OP text
>Top 100's from Comichron in image form (Diamond on the left, DC on the right, fused in the center; asterisks indicate returnables)
>ComicHub Top 20's as a single image
>all estimates are mere projections (that are inherently unreliable unless the figures come from the publishers themselves) until Diamond resumes releasing order index data

>Okay, here we go: Comichron Direct Market sales projections for October 2020. Still no order index numbers from Diamond, so the analysis again required drawing on a variety of data including publisher-submitted info, our retail order subset, historical trends and more.

>This month's process used something new: projections on what every single individual comics release sold to retailers for on average based on publishers' discount structures and the bonus discounts they offered. The results better constrain the ranges comics sold for.

>As such, we've narrowed the ranges we're listing for Diamond's issues to reflect greater info. (We also widened the ranges for DC, where there's less data.) Comics at the very top have the broadest ranges; there are fewer factors to suggest floors and ceilings for outliers.

[...]

> Lunar would do a service to its retailers in the new year (when it'll be DC's only distributor) by getting some reporting going.

[...]

>The combined business continues to appear healthy; while new release volumes are still recovering, October looks like a "normal" month. The only difference was how long it took to calculate that fact. Normal reporting at Diamond is hopefully not far off.

>These are unit and dollar sales rankings based on sales tracked at point-of-sale by the ComicHub system at stores selling American graphic novels around the world. During the period for which these reports were generated, there were over 100 stores using the ComicHub system. As this is a small, non-random sample of over 3,000 stores selling American comics worldwide, these rankings may not be typical for all stores, but do represent a variety of locations and store emphases.

>This data was collected based on a four-week month, from October 4 to October 31.

DC doesn't go through Diamond anymore

Bros, is DC Comics dead?

They're still with Diamond UK until end of next year

>DC no longer in Diamond
>top comics are still Batman
I'm confused

Nothing can beat the Batman. Not even real life shipping agreements

damn, Dracula Motherf*cker sold far better than I expected.

They're combining Diamond data with the data they can get from the other publishers

It sold like a mother fucker

Batboy and his funny friend dabbin on the competition

That's for just backstock from Diamond warehouses

based Johns, DC should just put this guy at the helm he will singlehandedly save DC or at least bring in more readers, he's better at comics than films

he bad man

dumb nigger

>crap
>crap
>okay
>crap
>crap
Business as usual

three jokers and venom are good, spiderfag

No

yes faggot

You're not making your position appealing by attacking those who disagree with you.

damn it all when did Zig Forums get overrun with puss wagons

I accept your concession.

>tfw johns saved dc before being whisked away
>didio ruins dc a second time
Johns is barely affiliated with comics and Didio screwed up so badly he got fired.

>concession
dumb nigger

It opened alright but three jokers fucked the landing

Is this why a special one-shot's rumored to be in the works?

I don’t know the conclusion that Bruce has known who the joker is the whole time is retarded and the reveal that jokers family is real was worse. I don’t see why we have to go back to it

the ending was lackluster but overall I can cope with it for now since I enjoyed the rest of the story
