Got one of my holy fucking grails: the Going Grey Hulk epic collection which FINALLY collects the Milgrom run that bridges the Byrne and PAD run
yay, /shelf/ I think we had a good enough break.
New stuff this month part 1
got Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 on the way. I hear they are selling out FAST in the states, not so in Canada but I assume they won't last too much longer here either.
and my gift from the Christmas Cheer gift exchange.
also I said last thread I would storytime that Alan Moore Songbook but libgen was down at the time so I couldn't download a copy. Will do that tonight.
I'm trying to figure out how this is organized....and it's hurting my brain
Gotta sit and read the Morrison omni user got me.
Gonna start it after I finish this Drops of God volume. Shit's a great manga that I don't think I've ever seen on a /shelf/. Not even a winefag but it's amazing.
Any news on new Epic trades yet?
Just updated my libib account with all my new books, library is now 420 volumes. yicks, time to start getting rid of some of those.
Omar posted some yesterday.
Not a lot of news from the mostly-dead DC collected editions department except for one huge fuck up:
The 25th anniversary printing of Underworld Unleashed is totally missing a specific shade of GREEN.
Back in the day it was a special "FIFTH INK" thing that looked different in the singles.
For reasons that literally no one can explain, it is missing from the new trade release.
Which means there are actual pages of Kyle saying "This Green Flame is not like my Lantern stuff!" surrounded by white lines.
Link?
god damn it DC! do the minimal work on this at least!

I don't understand who wants these things. Same with the Crossing and the Shadowland omnis. Why would you want terrible comics on your shelf?
Here's the list:
Reprints:
1. Avengers Final Threat (presumably with the errors from the first printing fixed)
2. Power Man/Iron Fist V1
3. Hulk V1
4. Moon Knight V1
5. X-Men V19 Mutant Genesis
6. Captain America Dawn's Early Light
7. Dr Strange V1
8. Fantastic Four V1
New Volumes:
1. Avengers #98-114
2. Star Wars Old Republic
3. Conan the Avenger (Dark Horse book)
4. Generation X (#1-9 plus the X-Men/UXM crossover part of the Phalanx Covenant)
5. Morbius V2
6 Thor 451-467
7. Conan V3
8. Captain America #333-350
9. Punisher 24-36 and multiple graphic novels (Intruder and Return to Big Nothing)
10. Dr Strange (90s series 14-33)
11. New Mutants 55-70/Annual #4
12. Star Wars original Marvel series 74-88, Annual 3 and Return of the Jedi 1-4
13. Wolverine V3 (33-41 and several Wolverine graphic novels)
14. Amazing Spider-Man #380-393 and the Pursuit tie-ins from Spider-Man, Web, and Spectacular that reveal Harry was behind the creation of Peter's robot parents. Basically the bulk of the lead in to the Clone Saga.
15. Fantastic Four 105-125
16. Iron Man 310-318 and the Hands of Mandarin crossovers from Force Works, War Machine, and MCP.
Latest. Just waiting on the Biologic Show reprint now.
every time some 1990s DC event gets a release, some dude yells "where's my Armageddon 2001! omnibus!" and I just don't understand them
Oh god, I can't imagine wanting that shit. The fallout from that is the worst fucking part of Zero Hour.
I think we'll get it eventually. Or at the very, they are fucking smart and include Armageddon 2001 #1-2 in JLI Omnibus V3, since #2 is also part of the Breakdowns Saga as far as the JLE Annual leading directly into #2 and #2 leading directly into the second act of Breakdowns (complete with nightmare sequence involving Captain Atom).
There are some good shit in that volume. The JLA, JLE, Superman Annuals (President Superman and Superman/Maxima wed), and LEGION annuals are pretty good.
Also, I'd argue otherwise. Especially since Zero Hour actually fucking delivered on the pay-off to Armageddon 2001 (several years removed granted) by revealing Hal was the real villain Waverider was trying to stop and Hawk/Monarch just a decoy for Hal killing his friends.
You're referring to that one guy on the CollectedEdition Forums, aren't you!
For those who were wondering why this was my white whale for a long time, storytime is here >
Is there anything missed by getting the Deluxes of JLA instead of the new omni? I'm fine with getting Earth 2 separately and already have the DC One Million omni held for me, so those are just wasted pages as far as I'm concerned.
yes, it is that weirdo
>4. Generation X (#1-9 plus the X-Men/UXM crossover part of the Phalanx Covenant)
Fuck yes.
Hey /shelf/ which one of these Namor books should I pick up?
I was under the impression they were the same with different cover options.
I believe the cover on the left is the direct market variant, and therefore the rarer of the two if you ever decide to sell it after it goes OOP.
Can't go wrong with either. Like and said, the one left would resell for more but for me IMO the one on the right seems more aesthetically pleasing.
Go with the one with the shark cover shelf user. Sharks are cool!
Big month for me. Picked up:
Uncanny Xmen Omnibus volume 2
Busiek Conan Omnibus
Solomon Kane Omnibus
Books of Magic Omnibus
Infinity Saga Omnibus
And my big win, Exterminatus by Boom! Got a seller for $5 when it’s been sitting at over $100 on both Ebay and Amazon for over 7 months.
If I can find it in the budget I think I’ll delay Eternals Omnibus in favor of snagging a copy of JLA Morrisson Omnibus. I just finished volumes 1 and 2 of his Batman Omnibus collection and I’m sold.
Book club updates lads, keeping each other honest and reading our collections.
> What are you currently reading?
> What did you just finish?

The Deluxes are superior. You get the Millar, DeMatties, and Waid fill in issues and you get Wildcats/JLA which was pretty garbage to the point that, IIRC, they didn't bother including it in the Morrison omnibus given how polarizing it is.
Also, both the Deluxe and the Omnibus are still far from fucking perfect (lots of missing material) but the Deluxes are far more complete than the omnnibus.
It's basically Generation X Classic Vol 1 & 2 rebundled together. Hopefully they can fit #10-25 in the next volume, to at least catch up to Zero Tolerance OHC.
To be honest, an omnibus would've made more sense to me. The could have billed it as a Bachalo book for volume 1, and a catch all of the rest of the series in volume 2. There's no way in hell an Epic Collection with Hama's name on it is going to sell.
>Drops of God Vol. 2
>some X of Swords issues
>Morrison Batman omni Vol.1
> What are you currently reading?
Eisner’s Hawks of the Seas
> What did you just finish?
Grant Morrisson Omnibus Volume 2
> What’s next?
I might push to finish Battle Angel Alita. I finished volume 3 last week and it’s been outstanding.
Just finished re-reading JLA Cry For Justice. Will be reading Star Wars Complete Marvel Epic in the next couple of days after I finish reading the DeMatties Spectacular Spidey run (which sadly I'm missing a couple of issues of the Black Crow arc).
