>How does this work?
>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.
>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
>If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

So, we agreed that half-demons basically have a Devil Trigger, no?
Earshot's father?
Also drew this:
I was thinking of a hero/villain whatever.
He can make other people as sleepy as he is.
so his powers wouldn't work if he's wide awake. The more sleepy he is, the more sleepy his opponents become.
He also can't actually sleep, because if he does, he can't use his powers and that would break the effects.
So, basically, for him to to be most effective is for him to be at the brink of sleeping. Just conscious enough to use his powers.
His powers wouldn't work on enemies that don't sleep.
Or would it be more interesting if his powers included imbuing sleepiness to subjects that don't sleep or become tired?
Haven't really made a name for him.
What do you think?
I like powers that seem like they are useless. It's fun trying to figure out how to make them at least seem OP.
Is it a concentrated effect or like a blanket area effect?
I'd say he can target multiple entities if he wants to.
And I wouldn't say it's completely useless.
Depends on how sleepy the hero is, but being tired to the brink of sleep is a pretty big debuff If you ask me. It's just that he would also be just as sleepy as well.
Admittedly, he probably is more useful with a partner or something.
Oh come on, you gotta
If he were a sleepwalker, would that have any effect on anyone?
I feel like he would make a great villain. For a name, maybe something like Yawn or Doze, maybe even something like Mr. Sandman or Nightie-Night.
I'd say no.
He's not exactly conscious at that point.
Besides, you're not really tired/sleepy if you're sleeping.
However, I would ass that his enemies can give in to the tiredness and go to sleep, and at that point, they would remain asleep even if the character lifts his powers on them.
It's just that the character can't give in to his tiredness if he wants to induce sleepiness.
*i would add
It does seem he'd be used more as a toll by someone else.
Might be a good person to help cure insomnia.
>insomnia
From what I understand insomniacs have a hard time going to sleep, but still feels tiredness.
So he wouldn't be very helpful at that front, he'd just make them feel worse if anything.
So it really is just a debuff.
Not sure how useful that would be if he's thrust into a fight.
I like those names.
I intentionally made his powers kinda seem ridiculous so I wouldn't know if he'd make a very threatening villain.
He probably needs a helping hand if wants to be effective in combat.
Probably not very helpful on his own.
It would be more of an inconvenience to anyone rather than an actual threat.
But if he starts not sleeping for days or something, it might actually be helpful in a fight.
If you've been really tired before, you'd know that you won't be able to think straight or even see straight, let alone fight. Sometimes trying to stay awake is all you can do.
As a villain, he'd probably be able to easily crash planes and fuck up operations.
Only problem is that he'd be as tired as the ones he's affecting.
Mr. Sandford AKA The Snooze. Could he use a mattress business as a front for his illegal activities? 'Mr. Dream: Where snoozing is winning'
So he'd have henchmen strap him to his stay-awake-chair and they'd carry him around as if he were the Ark of the Covenant.
Or maybe not even henchmen, but just some villain who puts him into a machine and sends it in a direction.
Pocket sketch of a concept of a Ma'am Aries/ Stretcherous fusion.
The idea that comes to my mind is when Popeye the sailor man puts his thumb in his mouth to blow up his arm.
Take it a step further and move the air around (like Luffy does) and you have a truly terrifying bust.
Of course, he’s the leader of the Beddy Bye Gang, with the roster consisting of:
>Dreamcatcher - A woman who manipulates the the victims of her boss to have good dreams so they won’t want to wake up
>Bedframe - A gadgeteer villain who’s springy mechanical arms can contort to all shapes necessary for any job
>Pillowcase - Locked in a straight jacket, a goon capable of putting anyone to sleep with enough force
>Nightlight - A woman capable of flashing enough bright light that forces people to show their eyes and fall asleep, with aid of her boss’ power of course
This is all I have right now but a blanket or mattress based goon would be cool. Plus some of the other names not chosen could work as Henchmen as well. I don’t want to do a Nightmare villain since those are overdone and it would seem like someone this go would actively work against since those prevent good sleep.

Makes me remember Dream Weaver.
