Especially when they have titles in other languages that you can't just remember off of the top of your head. So much great Russian animation that I have trouble finding now because I can't just add it to my favorites, fuck.

in fairness, i've seen videos where folks used to share amusing behind the scenes stories about movies or animation they worked on. better than the twitter screencap garbage that gets shared here.

COPPA isn't even the real issue.
The problem is Google blatantly breaking it with their advertising schemes by having ads to target child demographics, and refusing to change their ways when the government finally came after them for it, so they passed the ball to the actual uploaders.

Because it saves the effort of the CEOs using more than one fucking braincell at any given time, and also the staff are underpaid and overworked and this would involve creating a separate department which means splitting teams up and losing their expertise.
