Fuck you Youtube, Google, and COPPA

why do you care about youtube comments anyways?
what you're gonna miss on gems like
>can we have x? we have x at home. x at home:
or
>no one. this video [thing]
or how could we forget the pivotal
>quoting the video followed by an edit with something like: wtf this has so many likes thank you so much! can we make to x amount?
not all comment sections have them, sometimes its fun watching what people have to say
they should disable the comments for all videos.
As for the miniplayer?
yeah I don't get that logic
This and removing community captions were the worst decisions Youtube took this year
I don't give a shit about youtube comments but not allowing you to add videos to your favorites is actual bullshit. Especially when they have titles in other languages that you can't just remember off of the top of your head. So much great Russian animation that I have trouble finding now because I can't just add it to my favorites, fuck.
they also removed advanced settings for playlists, now I can't sort my videos by all these different things and I can't back up my playlists to HTML files properly anymore.
copy the title, paste it into the search bar, add from the search results to your favorites. or you can just click 'like' and it will be in your liked videos.
Thank you for aiding me in my retardation user. It's still bullshit.
Rumble is cooler.
YouTube thinks this is OK for kids to watch:
youtube.com
>why do you care about youtube comments anyways?
to counter faggot propaganda and to tell the person who uploaded the video to kill themselves
It IS weird that all the recommended on like half of the Futurama clips is some kiddie shit.
Reminds me of all the ancient brony comments on those pony videos got nuked because all the fan mashups were marked as for kids. Youtube is actively destroying history.
You do realize youtube videos are Zig Forums tier right
>realizing YT has been a shitty company since at least 2015
What took you so long to realize this?
At least there's a silver lining
in fairness, i've seen videos where folks used to share amusing behind the scenes stories about movies or animation they worked on. better than the twitter screencap garbage that gets shared here.
too bad we'll never hear those stories of working on Animalympics or the 90's Felix the Cat animated series, because comments were removed
COPPA isn't even the real issue.
The problem is Google blatantly breaking it with their advertising schemes by having ads to target child demographics, and refusing to change their ways when the government finally came after them for it, so they passed the ball to the actual uploaders.
Look, I hate this stupid zoomer meme format as much as the next guy. But sometimes, just sometimes there are good comments.
I'm sure that intellectual, worthwhile contributions like
>WHO ELSE WATCHING THIS IN 2018???
or
>I AM GUY FROM ARGENTINA AND I LIKE THIS VIDEO VERY MUCH IN MY COUNTRI
will be sorely missed
I just wanna warn people that the channel "ThingsICantFindOtherwise" has always had the comments disabled, because the person who runs that channel is a anti fun dumbass.
Were you giggling while typing this comment? Wondering just how many (you)s you would get from typing this? Just curious.
Hey man, this comment was really insightful! Have a (You) in response.
and of course
>who's watching in [year]
Susan wojocki is a stupid cunt
>comments on a cartoon over 30 years old is disabled because it's "for kids"
fucking assholes.
>make an alternate app specifically dedicated to kids so they stay off the main site
>enforce the guidelines on the main site that's supposed to be for an older audience
I just can't understand the logic
Because it saves the effort of the CEOs using more than one fucking braincell at any given time, and also the staff are underpaid and overworked and this would involve creating a separate department which means splitting teams up and losing their expertise. Right now, that's not a good idea, with the pandemic and the mental health issues.
>look up a favorite moment from a cartoon
>hope to see others remnisce about what they love about it, or maybe draw my attention to something i never noticed before
>oh yeah.. youtube sucks now
