How accurate was the 2007 episode of Bojack Horseman? I was only 6 back then so I don't really remember it.

Pretty spot on. It's hard to describe how the 00's felt like there was no cultural mood to the time period but now as we get further away from it there is more of a recognizable aesthetic that I'm seeing people touch on.
Everyone was so laid back and the focus on loose clothing feels like a breath of fresh air now
Fuck me i have screencaps that are almost as old as you are.
I saved this when it was posted on Zig Forums back on March 18, 2006.
I've been alive too long.
I was pretty young too but it’s spot on from what I remember
This screenshot gives me the same vibes that my town’s strip malls used to give me
>the 00's felt like there was no cultural mood
I member how the war of terror and the post 9/11 terror were the common...fucking zoomers
Not everyone is a burger
Fucking Hell zoomer, I was 15 in 2007, was the year I'd my first drink and a girl touched my dick
>autistic screeching at the thought that someone was born after you
you're mentally a child
Not him but the war on terror had an impact way beyond the US, pretty clearly remember the bombings in Spain and the UK.
i graduated high school in 07. semi accurate but a lot of that seems like it'd be dated in 07 since its just memes. mcr was already dropping fast in popularity since emo was dying out after 06 made it too mainstream (the emos became hipsters). also back then i had a blackberry, not a flip phone. last flip phone was a razr i had from 04-06.
>the 00's felt like there was no cultural mood to the time period
That's exactly how I felt about the 90s in the early 00s. I even remember making a post on a vBullitan board about why the 90s weren't as culturally distinct as the 70s or 80s. Things change so gradually that you don't really notice them until look back 15 years later and realize how many things were distinct to that time period.
Anyone got a MEGA link to the episode?
The year the internet died
Kimcartoon
Episode name?
Member the Azoras meeting? We america are not a empire! and our only fellows to agree to invade are Spain and the UK not empires!!!
Doesn't that happen every decade
Yep. only question is what things are going to seem distinctly 2010s in the future
In my head, anyone that's birth year begins with 20 they are 7. I don't care if it's 2000 or 2018
And last time I assume?
The vlog cliches from that brief time period where anyone could become a Youtube personality.
Vines, twerking going mainstream, hoverboards, selfies with the sticks, Snapchat, dawn of the Tiktokers, mass shootings and their desensitization, king Obama, dark lord Trump, meme warfare, cringe sensation, internet fads leaking into real life.
>20 in 2007
>Got my first college degree
>Everything felt more humble but also more uncertain after we fought two wars that most people recognized were frivolous
>There was a little bit of optimism in the future because this was a year before the housing crash
>Remember missing the 90's and how simple everything was.
It's not spot-on to what I remember, but I wish I knew how much worse things could become at the time.
This.
There was a cultural mood but it's really hard to describe. Something like unsure, dirty, and unnecessarily aggressive.
We were about to recover from 9/11 culturally and then the fucking recession hit
I donno lol
No, not much dick touching but a lot of drinking
People watching Let's Plays and toy Unboxings on youtube for entertainment instead of tv. Random white people being hideously insulted and losing their shit over cultural appropriation and demanding white Mexicans not ever celebrate Dia De Los Muertos, or anyone not specifically first generation from China not do a damn thing on Chinese New Year. Another rich and famous Hollywood personality has been #metoo'ed today, apart from the one yestrerday, and the one the day before that. Overweight nerds complaining about Ghostbusters, Star Wars, and the Snyder Cut every single day of their lives. And the Trump twitter shitpost of the day on all the news every night.
Also everyone's grandparents become die hard Trump fans that only watch Fox News 24 hours of the day and shitpost on Facebook to their grandkids.
GENERIC TWO THOUSAND AND SEVEN POP SONG
Internet memes leaking into reality and pasty white kids listening to mumble rap.
That's been a thing since before the 90's. If anything the 10's will hallmark the first time anyone started screaming at them for doing the thing old people have been doing since the advent of cable news.
Superhero movies, superhero tv shows, everything is superheroes, Disney makes superhero animated movies,
Everyone wearing masks and being terrified of human contact
Trump making fun of some world leader on the news
Facebook turns into the platform every parent and grandparent sends Tump tweets and 8 year old cat videos to their grandkids
If nothing else, I hope we remember the 10's as one of the worst decades.
>Everyone wearing masks and being terrified of human contact
I don't think specifically one year will hallmark the whole decade. If anything, this is the start of this new decade.
I think people will remember more all of the political turmoil and fighting happening in the streets than that.
What a shitty fucking decade - And the 2020s..God help us.
90s grandparents took time out to watch the Andy Griffith show. Now they will never ever turn away from Fox News for anything or anyone.
I have hope that the 2020s will be better because the 2010s were so aggressively shitty. Either that or we're just going to go further down the rabbit hole, but I hope not.
I like to remain optimistic and think that the 20's will be looked back on as being better than the 10's. You can already see people getting sick of the chronic whining shit of the 10's as well as the pervasive attitudes that ruined the decade for a lot of people.
They were watching Fox News as much if not more back then than they are now and had way more racist and nonconformist thoughts while they were doing it, get over yourself. This is what you thought grandparents were doing from watching your own.
The early 2010 millennial hipsters/indie culture.
The Andy Griffith show was 20-30 years old at this point and most news at the time would have been considered far-right even for Zig Forums.
The 2000's were a mirage of the victory of liberalism coming fresh off the defeat in of the soviets in the ninties, the expansion of the obvious consequences of having a single superpower (rampant, blatant imperialism, pointless wars fought on the peripherary of empire), these all existed in the 90's, but hit their zenith in the 2000', the 2010's will be remembered as the point where the veil truly broke, where even the republican who won his election openly shat on the idea of the war on terror for what it was, a thin ideological veneer over the actual goals to keep the oil flowing, the decade where Libya is almost universally considered to be an utter failure by anyone other than the most partisan capital l Liberal hacks.
In terms of culture? the 2010's have no universal culture, it's built into the internet, people lament the death of smaller sites, but realistically most websites are hardly monolith, there's no such thing as "the facebook community" or "the discord community", the sites have effectively taken the job of hosting people's shit in exchange for advertisement, same as the money men ever have, people will create mythologies out of these seperate cultural tubes we've created for ourselves using the few things that became universally famous (Trump, Vine, mass shootings, 'meme warfare') to create a common narrative, but ask yourself, how "connected" would you say you a random person off the street? what common cultural touchstones do you share? Even if you're practically identical with only differences in hobbies, you almost certainly share very little, the 2010's will be remembered as the time of the microcelebrity, a god within a certain world and utterly unknown outside of it, the death of universal fame.
