They killed 20 years of stories with the retcon. I doubt anyone will be sad about Sloth’s run being dismissed.

/thread

Are you actually questioning the ability of capeshit to retcon itself? It does that shit like twice a year

yeah, you just have to confront the devil deal with the fall out of the deal that ALWAYS happens in ANY story about a deal with the devil then have pete overcome it.

It was always a shit idea both since it goes against the character AND that a divorce would've made so much damn sense.

It's time you learned something about comics: The Only Winning Move is Not to Play.

It really boils down to what do you interpret as it being undone. The actual spell was undone at spider-island. If you mean Petar and Mj being back, the current run is working towards that.
Most of the previous stories(including something one'd expect them wanting to delete like the clone saga) were stated to happen post OMD(only Sins Past and the other weren't that i recall and I don't mind those being forgotten).

Really, the only thing missing status-quo wise was everything specifically related to Civil War at this point. Dead characters would've come back in clone conspiracy anyways.

>It includes over 10 years of storyline.

Would we really lose anything tossing those 10 years out?

>Can this even be undone at this point?
Yeah, easily. Comics are full of so much retarded shit that it wouldn't even be out of place.

>a divorce would've made so much damn sense.
What REALLY would've made sense was if MJ was shot and died immediately. Sorcerers and whatnot being against bringing people back from the dead is a lot more understandable than them not being able to heal bullet wounds. Peter giving up his marriage if it means MJ lives again makes much more sense than...whatever the fuck kind of drugs Quesada and co. took.

Spencer certainly seems like he's about to try. Really I think the only thing you can do at this point is have everyone remember what happened, Peter and MJ wed again, MJ finds out she's now pregnant with twins (Mayday and Annie), and if need be have May finally die to be with Ben.

One More Day isn't exactly hard to undo, it's just a matter of doing it. The real question you have to ask yourself is how does one undo the shitshow that is Sins Past? Spencer has referenced this too, but I question if he has the balls to tackle such a tangled mess after the OMD thing he's got going on.

If you mean retcon it then no, it would only make things more messy and confusing

If you mean Peter moving on then kinda, he lost A LOT of time with useless sitcom filler and will forever taint his story however it's not too late for him to marry MJ, have kids and get a life job.

>it's not too late for him to marry MJ, have kids and get a life job

Except the standard status quo is Peter Parker is a photographer for the Daily Bugle, so if people familiar with that alone see something different then they'll be confused.

>Except the standard status quo is Peter Parker is a photographer for the Daily Bugle
user he hasn't worked for the Bugle in fucking years.

What does he do these days for a living anyway? Just freelance photographer?

I'm aware of that. But Little Timmy Casual who doesn't actually read comics isn't.

it undid nearly that much itself, anything can happen

He was a science teacher up until Civil War happened and ruined his life. After that, no idea, One More Day's new world began with him pennyless.

For the past few years up until now, he's been working at a science lab while also attending University to finish getting his doctorate

Just say it was a Gwen clone Norman knocked up.

Stan Lee was smart. He adopted the story in the newspaper comics but undid it immediately after fan backlash. Quesada was too fucking stubborn and now he’s claiming to agree with Spencer in getting Peter and MJ back together.

>finish getting his doctorate
Isn't he only getting that because of what happened while Otto was in his body?

Doesn't work. Besides, we have enough headaches with clones already

It's something Peter was planning on doing anyway so what does it matter? Otto was pissed off Peter didn't have his yet, so he forged the document to sate his ego and appease the bureaucrats. So no it's not entirely fueled by the public humiliation of Otto's cheating

I stand corrected then. I'm pretty sure the Parker Luck means Peter still won't get it.

Here's the thing about Parker Luck; Slott is an idiot who abused it. "Parker Luck" is supposed to be about giving Peter situations and challenges to overcome, the kind of Murphy's Law we all face daily. However Slott used it as an excuse to constantly shit on Peter for his own sick entertainment and told us it was drama

If a writer wants something undone, they'll undo it.

>young peter is a photographer
>older peter is a teacher
not that complicated

Let's hope not. Brand New Day and Slott's run were fantastic.

If they were gonna undo it, I'm pretty sure we would have seen it in the news.

Spiderman has always sucked. Zero good stories.

Molten take but I never really felt like Sins Past was anywhere near as much of a trespass as OMD/BND/OMIT personally. Gwen had been dead forever and remained dead afterwards (unless we're counting temporary stupid shit like Clone Conspiracy/Dead No More) so eh. It was definitely very shitty but it wasn't damn near ruination of a beloved IP leading to a decade of awful comics like the other shit.
