How is it that female characters with huge boobs are super popular on Zig Forums, so much that there are 2 entire /coc/ projects about them AND there are well known artists on Twitter with sizeable followings like Cake and Graph with huge titty OC and yet it seems like it's impossible to get traction like that for a "professional" comic or series? I mean the Europeans can get away with Lastman and Peepoodoo, is the market for boxum simply ephemeral in America? Why can't it work.

A disconnect between the publisher and the audience.

So is the answer a much more varied publishing apparatus? Or rather for self-publishing to become the norm for smaller more "adult" books?

Just stop being a coomer, bro
I have faith in you

Les Requins Marteaux is the house that published Melons of Wrath. KSTЯ published Lastman with all its sex and violence. I wonder if it would be possible to get American books published through these labels so they could have the sexual freedom our eurofriends do.

Simple. A large-scale industry follows trends, and right now the "trend" is social justice, diversity, etc. Any media surrounding big-boobed women in a positive light is looked at as problematic and misogynistic, at least in America. Therefore, it would be public-suicide for any media giant if they promoted that. Smaller, independent companies and artists can get away with it because technically they fly under the normal, public radar.

i hope every nigger who draws porn dies a horrible death

Ameirca needs more Althouse publishing houses they way they have in France. Where a guy sets up his own publishing company to self publish and then publishes stuff that suites his vibe. Damn imagine the creative dynamism, making sexy ideas come to life just because you can. Now that's art baby.

It's literally impossible to take a character seriously when their sexual characteristics take up half the panels they appear in

Why does it need to be serious? Petite Paul is literally all about titties and dicks and sex in funny situations like summoning an anime tentacle demon. They're not a high brow read by any means but they're still fun and worth reading if not for a fap then a laugh.

That’s how I feel as well. If you want to jack off to girls with big tits, just look up porn.

OP specifies professional comic or series and by that I'm taking he means things that aren't porn

OP specifies professional comic or series and by that I'm assuming he means not porn

Oh for fucks sakes, I even refreshed the page. Whatever.

Petite Paul isn't "porn", it's an ongoing story about the lives of two siblings who's life has sex in it. Trying to read it like a doujin doesn't work, same with The Hills Have Size. There's lots of fucking in it, but it's absolutely not meant to be read as porn. The distinction seems pretty simple, I wonder why people struggle with the distinction conceptually.

>How is it that female characters with huge boobs are super popular on Zig Forums
Zig Forums's userbase, since it was created in 2006, consists of two primordial elements:

- Perverts making all the coomer threads
- Manchildren ranting about toys, capeshit and cartoon topics that nobody but them cares

Whenever Zig Forums has "slow" years, when the board isn't popular or interesting, thread variety wanes and the primordial layers of the board become more noticeable.

We are in one such year.

Petite Paul is the shitpost comic book by an otherwise extremely serious drama artist.

I mean you can probably get away with having a wank to Melons of Wrath but it's sure not the point of the story.

because tits like those are gross, I want something that can fit in the palm of my hand not something where my dick would literally barely make it halfway through her tits

ironically the art in Petit Paul is worse, yet it's pretty much just meant as porn

>and right now the "trend" is social justice, diversity, etc.
This is the worst fad entertainment has ever gone through, and it feels like it's lasted more than a decade.

Get a bigger dick user.

those tits are nearly twice the size of her head top to bottom that's easily 17 inches of tit a dick would have to get through.

>A large-scale industry follows trends, and right now the "trend" is social justice, diversity, ect.

If it makes enough money a "trend" can become the norm from now on...

The only "Diversity" America needs is a diverse market! Trust bust!

isn’t Zig Forums’s whole appeal that it is a place where nerds can talk forever about nerdy niche topics they like?

Btw i agree with most of what you’re saying

America's different.

is the market for boxum simply ephemeral in America?

No it just taken over by Japan. notice how despite being larger Zig Forums is less anal about lewd stuff? a part of the market that want sex or really anything that isn't cape shit is just gone as far as us producers are concerned. And anything you make would be compared to Zig Forums. Also smaller Japanese producers can relay on their home market and let americans leech off of them, You can't compete with free shit.

they are popular everywhere. american cartoon/comic companies just censor them. too many mutts are so submissive and acquiescent now that they cant publicly express it at all. its completely the same as chink society under ccp regime.

What are you paying for? People on this board love to talk about "the market" and how the audience is definitely out there, and that they're being ignored because of leftists or some shit, but at the same time we'll gleefully pirate everything and call anyone that suggests paying for content a fag, then go right back to blaming sjws.
To be a "professional" requires people to open their wallets for you. Are you opening your wallet for anyone?

Zig Forums's MO is "just flow with whatever happens", it was never intended to be specially about anything.

It's more about Zig Forums in specific. The manchildren + perverts combo that dominates the western comics / cartoon fandom can be traced all the way to 90s USENET threads. When Zig Forums was created, they invited them in. Older than you may think and more or less the dominant demographic until cartoons fandoms reinvented themselves with tumblr/deviantart kids.

Like, this is a 14 years old board m8, it has grown and waned multiple times already. But it's always built over a layer of these types of threads.

When Zig Forums get's popular you'll start seeing more diverse threads: non cape comics, non american comics, animation production threads, obscure niches, industry insiders even attempts at OC. Not much competition from other sites truth be told.

OP did make an interesting question tho', I just saw OP pic and thought it was a coomer
related thread with a funny question.

On the USA there's a perceived notion that sex if filthy and shouldn't be public. It doesn't stop works about sex from being made, but it does force it to put the sex on the front and make it the centerpiece or the "statement" of the work. Stuff lik petit spirou or japanese light reference to people's sexuality wouldn't fly in the USA because in their eyes there's no middle ground for representation of sex.

I bought the tankobon for Horie Ryu's manga. I also paid for digital versions of Lupin and have bought 1 muronaga chaashuu anthology. I'm paying for the shit I want. It's just not coming from the west.

it happened in the 90s but mostly because porn artists. The porn comic industry in the USA is 100% digital now and centered on pin ups.

Indie comics see eroticism as pandering unless you make it "artsy" like sex & rockets. But well US comics are fucking dead so there isn't a lot of variety among indies. you'll have to wait until someone starts a more sex positive trend.

>It doesn't stop works about sex from being made, but it does force it to put the sex on the front and make it the centerpiece or the "statement" of the work
I think the onus of that is largely on the audience. Even if authorial intent is satire or comedy or something else, Americans are trained to react negatively and immediately dismiss stuff as "smut".

OP's image is literally something he could've bought. That's what I'm curious about; if he's putting his money where his mouth is or if he's the actual root of his own problems.
